The French term amuse bouche means "entertain your mouth". In the restaurant environment, this is the name of a compliment from the chef, a free miniature snack that is served before a meal.

It was deliciously light and very tasty soup, perfect for a light lunch.

Today, soup is a dish of world cuisine that is constantly evolving and changing; soups are in every national cuisine, and each nation gives its national soups special features. Despite the similar names, all soups are completely different: spicy and bland, thick and rich, liquid and light, simple and complex, coarse and elegant.
