Ο Alton Miller είναι ένας από τους πιο σεβαστούς DJs και παραγωγούς της σκηνής της house μουσικής, με καταγωγή από το Detroit — μια πόλη-θρύλο για την εξέλιξη της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής.

Ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του τη δεκαετία του 1980, επηρεασμένος από πρωτοπόρους της Detroit techno και house σκηνής, όπως οι Juan Atkins, Derrick May και Kevin Saunderson. Το στυλ του χαρακτηρίζεται από ένα ζεστό, soulful και βαθιά groovy ήχο, που συνδυάζει στοιχεία από house, disco, funk και jazz.

Ο Alton Miller έγινε ιδιαίτερα γνωστός μέσα από τη συμμετοχή του σε projects και labels όπως το Planet E Communications του Carl Craig, αλλά και από τις κυκλοφορίες του σε labels όπως το Sound Signature.

Ως DJ, έχει παίξει σε κορυφαία clubs και φεστιβάλ σε όλο τον κόσμο, ξεχωρίζοντας για τα βαθιά, συναισθηματικά sets του που κρατούν έντονη τη σύνδεση με το κοινό. Η μουσική του δεν είναι απλώς για χορό — μεταφέρει μια αίσθηση ψυχής (“soul”) και αυθεντικότητας που τον κάνει να ξεχωρίζει στη διεθνή house σκηνή.

Πρόκειται για έναν από τους πιο ιδιαίτερους και αναγνωρίσιμους καλλιτέχνες της ευρωπαϊκής ηλεκτρονικής σκηνής, με έδρα τη Ζυρίχη. Με χαρακτηριστικό ήχο που συνδυάζει house, techno, funk και organic στοιχεία, οι εμφανίσεις του ξεχωρίζουν για τη ζωντάνια, την παιχνιδιάρικη διάθεση και τον αυτοσχεδιασμό. Ιδρυτής της label Rumpelmusig, ο Kalabrese έχει δημιουργήσει ένα δικό του μουσικό σύμπαν, όπου τα grooves συναντούν την αναλογική αισθητική και τις live ερμηνείες.
