Smart Pack Exchange

21/07/2026

Did you know?

If just 1,000 Ghanaian office workers switched to SpexAfrica for their daily lunch, Ghana would avoid over 260,000 single-use plastic containers entering the environment every single year.
Not millions of people. Not a national campaign.

Just 1,000 individuals making one different choice at lunchtime.

That is the power of a circular system at scale.

And scale starts with one decision, yours. 🇬🇭

Most companies in Ghana have a plastic problem they've never stopped to measure.
It lives in the break room. It shows up at every desk at lunchtime. It fills the office bins every single day, and resets the next morning without anyone tracking what was lost.
The plastic footprint of a corporate lunch programme is one of the most consistent and measurable sources of single-use plastic waste a Ghanaian organisation generates. And for most, it doesn't appear anywhere in sustainability commitments or ESG reporting.
SpexAfrica changes that. Circular meals. Zero single-use plastic. Real impact data. 🇬🇭

The average office worker in Ghana generates over 260 single-use plastic lunch containers every year, without ever making a conscious decision to do so. It's just how lunch works.
Now multiply that by 10 colleagues. 50. 100.

The number becomes significant very quickly.

SpexAfrica's circular meal platform brings that number to zero, reusable Smartpacks for every lunch, every employee, every day. No single-use plastic. No environmental trail.

Every meal packed in single-use plastic is one more package that never breaks down.

Spex is changing that, one exchange at a time. Order your food, enjoy your meal, send the pack back. We sanitize it and send it right back into the cycle.

Less plastic. Less cost. More impact.

Eat. Swap. Reuse.

It is time to go back to basics. 🌍

Banning single-use plastics and styrofoam is a necessary step for both our health and the environment. From toxic leaching in hot food to learning from successful examples like Rwanda, shifting back to safer materials like glass and paper is the right direction.

Let’s embrace sustainability for a better life. 🌿

It’s time to rethink how we package our food. 🌍

Sustainability professional Edward highlights why the move away from single-use plastics and styrofoam is a decades-overdue step in the right direction. Beyond the environmental impact, there are serious health risks—toxic chemicals can leach into our food when styrofoam is used for hot, fatty, or liquid meals.

We’ve done it before with glass and paper, and it’s time to return to those sustainable roots for a healthier future.
