Tracy and Andrew met with Consul Alejandra Paz at the Peruvian Embassy today to advance the operations of Sunrise Trading.

We presented our direct trade model to build official awareness and initiate the process of securing the Marca Perú brand mark. Every harvest we export from the high elevations of Oxapampa requires complete transparency. We document the exact cultivators who manage the soil, ensuring our operations accurately represent the agricultural production of Perú.

We provided physical samples of our green coffee directly to Consul Paz. Our objective is to establish a verified supply chain that moves raw, specialty green coffee from the Andes directly to roasters in the United States, ensuring every stage of export operates on strict quality control and direct cultivator compensation.

Today, on the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, we at Sunrise Trading want to pay tribute to the guardians of the forest: the indigenous communities that make it possible for the most extraordinary coffee to reach our cups. 🌿☕

Working hand-in-hand with the coffee farmers of the Yanesha community in Oxapampa has shown us that specialty coffee isn't built solely on metrics and controls; it is born from a profound respect for the land. Their ancestral knowledge and unwavering dedication to shade-grown cultivation serve as the shield protecting the immense biodiversity of the central Peruvian jungle.

At Sunrise Trading, today we share in the mourning of our friends and collaborators Marcial Ortiz and Úrsula Ortiz. We join in heartfelt sympathy for the passing of Mrs. Josefa, a woman who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

Beyond our professional ties, we value the bonds of friendship that connect us to the Yanesha Native Community, located in the Chontabamba Valley, Peru, where she always welcomed us with open arms. Her hospitality and the warmth of her home are memories we will cherish forever.
