A quieter week than some, but still a very Golden Ball sort of week.

What is on this week?

- Tuesday (16 Jun): Pub Quiz night at the Golden Ball. Get your team together, find a table, and see what your brain can do after a drink or two. Starts at 8.30 pm, but early arrival is recommended.

- Thursday (18 Jun): Planet Food brings Poetry and Jam to the Garden Room. Come to share something, listen in, or enjoy an evening of words and music. From 6 pm.

- Friday (19 Jun): That’s Us in the Corner bring acoustic guitars, ukulele and a set of familiar songs to the main room. From 8 pm.

- Sunday (21 Jun): Folk Americana Session in the Garden Room. No fuss, just a good Sunday evening to settle in and let the week drift off. From 8 pm.

This summer I'm bringing a series of special one-off Baby Band sessions to one of York's best community pubs, The Golden Ball. 🎶🍻

Expect everything you love about Baby Band: great music, real instruments, bubbles, movement and a welcoming atmosphere where nobody minds if your little one needs feeding, changing, wandering off or simply isn't feeling it that day.

These aren't regular classes, they're unique pop-up events bringing together families, music lovers and the wonderful Golden Ball community.

There are no ticket charges for these sessions. Instead, I'll have a pay-what-you-feel bucket at the venue, so you can contribute whatever feels right for you.

And let's be honest, who'd have thought you'd be able to enjoy a pint and attend a baby class at the same time? 🍺

Whether you're a regular Baby Ba**er or trying us for the first time, I'd love to welcome you along for some music, community and a little bit of joy in your week. 💛🎶👶🏻

June has brought us long evenings, a bit of warmth, and the occasional reminder that this is still Yorkshire. The beer garden is ready when the sun appears, and the bar is ready whatever the sky decides to do.

What is on this week?

- Tuesday (9 Jun): Pub Quiz night at the Golden Ball. Get your team together, brush up on your pop culture knowledge, and arrive early if you want a table. Starts at 8.30 pm.

- Wednesday (10 Jun): Curly and the Hat with a full band bring great songs, rhythm, and the best atmosphere in town. Always a special evening when they join us. From 8 pm.

- Friday (12 Jun): La Bola Dorada Latin Night returns for a night of music from across Latin America. Come for a dance, meet new people, and practise your Spanish. Music starts at 7.30 pm.

- Sunday (14 Jun): The week winds down with our Folk Americana Session in the Garden Room. Bring yourself, settle in, and enjoy one of our favourite Sunday traditions. From 8 pm.

June is here, even if the clouds have not fully got the message. Still, there are plenty of reasons to come down to the Golden Ball this week: good drinks, familiar faces, records on the turntable, dancing in the main room, and a full run of events to keep the week moving.

What is on this week?

- Monday (1 Jun): Our Open Mic starts the week, with Tom Beer hosting. Any talent welcome, but slots are limited, so arrive early if you want to get on the list. From 8 pm.

- Tuesday (2 Jun): Our traditional pub quiz is back, with music, very British questions, chaos, and probably a kazoo. Starts at 8.30 pm, but early arrival is recommended.

- Wednesday (3 Jun): Vinyl Night returns. Bring 3 or 4 tracks, share them with the room, and meet fellow music lovers. From 8 pm.

- Thursday (4 Jun): Bad Saloon brings the blues back to the Golden Ball. A proper local favourite, live in the main room. From 8.30 pm.

- Friday (5 Jun): A special gig with York Latinos to say goodbye to one of them leaving York, Luisito. Join us to wish him good luck the way we know how, by dancing. From 7.30 pm.

- Saturday (6 Jun): Sophisticated Boom Boom are back with their fine selection of rock and roll, garage, girl groups, power pop and more. You know it’s good. From 8 pm.

- Sunday (7 Jun): As every Sunday, our Garden Room welcomes the Folk Americana Session. From 8 pm.
