13 miles, 6 hours and over £2,000 raised! 🚶‍♂️

Yesterday, members of our Sandburn Hall & Griffon Forest team completed a 13-mile charity walk in memory of our much-loved colleague and friend, Andy, raising money for St Leonard's Hospice 🌻

Setting off from the Greenkeepers’ Shed here at Sandburn Hall, the team walked all the way to St Leonard’s Hospice, with a few well-earned stops along the way!

We originally set ourselves a fundraising target of £1,000, so we’re absolutely thrilled to have now raised over £2,000! A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser or supported us along the way!

And of course, a massive well done to everyone who took part yesterday. You absolutely smashed it! 👏

We also want to say a huge thank you to the Cross Keys - York, who very kindly provided some complimentary food for everyone after the walk, it was incredibly appreciated after 13 miles!

All in memory of Andy, while raising money for a charity that meant so much to him 💙

This Sunday, some of the Sandburn team will be walking 13.5 miles in memory of our much-loved colleague and friend, Andy.

On Sunday 4 October, 20 colleagues from Sandburn Hall and Tykes Restaurant and Griffon Forest Holiday Lodges will be tackling a 13.5-mile walk from Flaxton to St Leonard’s Hospice in memory of their much-loved colleague, Andy. 💛

💬 Sarah Balding, Sales and Marketing Director at Sandburn Hall, said: “Andy was such a big part of Sandburn Hall. He took over the Head Greenkeeper’s role from his dad and worked with us for 23 years, so he really was like family. He’s missed dearly by us all.

“It was Andy’s wish that we fundraise for St Leonard’s Hospice after the team there provided such exceptional care to him. We’ll be wearing our St Leonard’s T-shirts with immense pride on Sunday and thinking of Andy every step of the way.”

🔥 BONFIRE NIGHT IS BACK AT SANDBURN HALL 🔥

One of our favourite nights of the year is returning… and tickets are officially on sale! 🎆

Join us on Wednesday 4th November for an evening of Bonfire Night fun, with:
