Family recipes, modern flair, and unforgettable flavours – welcome to La Vecchia Scuola. Welcome to La Vecchia Scuola – Where Tradition Meets Taste

Nestled in the heart of York on historic Low Petergate, just a stone’s throw from the Minster, La Vecchia Scuola is more than just a restaurant – it’s a celebration of Italian heritage, creativity, and unforgettable flavour. Set within a stunning 300-year-old Georgian building that once housed York College for Girls, our restaurant blends timeless elegance with a modern passion for food. Our menu is a love letter to Italy, where cherished family recipes passed down through generations meet bold, seasonal creations crafted to delight. Since 2013, we’ve brought fresh energy to the kitchen, sourcing the finest local ingredients and preparing every dish with care, skill, and a touch of innovation. Whether you’re joining us for a leisurely lunch, a romantic dinner, or a special celebration, La Vecchia Scuola invites you to slow down, savour, and share in the memories we create – one plate at a time.
