Jamie, our resident gardener, looking rather pleased with his dahlias — and we can’t blame him! 🌸
He puts so much care into keeping the Windmill looking lovely. Each year, he saves tubers, and seeds for the following season and grows the plants in his polytunnel.
For 15 years, Jamie has saved his dahlia and begonia tubers and grown them again the following spring. So many of the flowers you see around the Windmill today trace back to plants he first grew all those years ago.
He even supplies our tearoom with homegrown tomatoes, green beans, peppers, beetroot and new potatoes.
There’s still plenty of colour to enjoy around the Windmill as September draws to a close — thanks to Jamie!
