The Golden Lion is situated in the heart of the picturesque Welsh village of Rossett. Inside the pub, the eclectic mix of old and new bring together a comforting homely appeal with a warm welcome and log fires. Our food menu features an array of dishes to suit all tastes including homemade burgers, classic mains and succulent grills. We are proud to serve a great selection of high quality cask ales offering a wide range of styles and flavours. As renowned for its ghost stories as it is for food the pub has its own spectral guest, Old Jeffrey. Jeffrey now lives quite contentedly in bedroom 2 upstairs and though still inclined to mischief, is perfectly harmless.

We won’t make any comments as to the likeness of our Bagby here… 😂 but AI aside; James is raising money for Phab, a wonderful charity, and one he is running the London marathon for.

We are hosting a charity quiz night on Friday 23rd October in the Tipi. £15 per person including quiz and a curry (vegan option available) from 7pm. £10 from each ticket to the charity.

Top prize £100 Hydes Voucher!

Something delicious has been cooking… and it’s finally here.

Our new menu launches today, bringing plenty of tempting dishes to the table.

Think beautifully pan-roasted duck breast, slow-braised lamb shank, comforting fish pie, farmhouse sausages with creamy mash, and a fragrant vegetable Malabar Curry.

Whether you’re craving comfort or fancy trying something new, there’s plenty waiting for you.

New menu. New dishes. Same warm welcome.

Well it couldn’t really be anything but this pose that wins our £50 bar tab! 😂

More for the fact that Claire refused to do a handstand as she felt her knees would cave in, but also the fact that Sophie did it in one take without knocking over her drink!

Well done ladies, drinks are on us!

We are lucky to be based in such a great village and although we are busy getting ready for our little do on Saturday, there is another annual event just down the road, well worth supporting.

The annual BRHS show is a fantastic event put together by amazing volunteers, so worth breaking the day up between bands here or a great first stop on the way to our event.
