Zerno Cafe

This building was built in 1494.

That means we’ve survived:
🩸 The Black Plague
⚔️ The English Civil War
👑 Tudor Executions

And the questionable decisions made after one too many.

If walls could talk, ours would ask for a strong drink. Luckily, we have plenty.

Come eat tapas in Chester's oldest building before you join the history books.

TOGETHER, WE HAVE MADE A REAL DIFFERENCE!

Today, I would like to share the results of our fundraising campaign at Zerno Café.

Thanks to our incredible customers and guests, we collected the following donations from the three donation boxes placed in our café:

🇬🇧 £1,923.84
🇺🇸 $31
🇪🇺 €35

❤️ Every single penny was donated by our wonderful customers and guests.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed. Thank you for every pound donated, for your trust, your kindness, and your willingness to support Ukraine.

It is extremely important to me that every donation is used for its intended purpose. I am personally overseeing the transparent handover of all the funds collected.

Zerno Café is handing over the entire amount to volunteers Yuliia and Vadym to support the purchase of a refrigerated vehicle for the humanitarian mission “Na Shchyti” (“On the Shield”).

This vehicle will be used to transport the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers — our Heroes who gave their lives defending Ukraine and its freedom.

To me, Zerno has always been more than just a café. It is a place where people come together, support one another, and make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to every single person who has been part of this. ❤️

Together, we can achieve so much more!

Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦

Zerno Cafe is 2 years old today! ❤️

I love this place, and I’m genuinely happy that over these two years it has become a favourite for so many people. People are the most valuable part of Zerno — they are what makes it the place it is.

The biggest change for me over the past year has been my divorce from Yaroslav. We opened Zerno as a family business, and many of you know us as a couple. But for some time now, we have been on separate paths.

For now, the cafe remains a business we share, but I really hope this will change soon and that Zerno will have even more opportunities to grow, develop and thrive.

It was important for me to share this with you.

But today, I simply want to say thank you to everyone who knows Zerno, who loves it, who keeps coming back, and especially to those for whom it has become something more than just a cafe. ❤️

A special thank you to the Zerno team — for your hard work and dedication, for your warmth, support, and genuine love for what you do. Zerno wouldn’t be the same without you.

I believe Zerno’s story is only continuing, and that there are many more beautiful moments ahead of us.

Happy 2nd birthday, Zerno! 🎂❤️

On 19 September, Zerno turns 2! 🎂

A lot has changed over these two years, but Zerno remains a place where I can work, connect with people, meet incredible new faces, create, and simply live. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has been part of these two years.

Come and celebrate with us on 19 September! 🥂

We’ll have a delicious birthday cake 🎂, and for our regular customers, we’ve prepared a few little gifts to say thank you for choosing Zerno and continuing to be part of our story. ❤️
