We have a winner for our sheep! Chosen out of a hat by our two lovely guests Paul & Dee (our very own Christmassy Mr & Mrs C!). Our winner is Robyn Walsh who has chosen the name Baala!! A lovely ‘Wrexham Miners Project’ Hamper is all yours!!😀 our competition also raised an amazing £116 too!🙏🏻

Today we were visited by the staff of the Wrexham AFC Women's team. We are honoured to remain associated with our football teams and proud they come to us to find out about our history.

🇺🇸❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Sometimes at Wrexham Miners Project, you never really know who you’re going to meet…

And sometimes, the people you meet leave a lasting mark on our story.

This week we were delighted to hear from Pamela Harris from Illinois, USA, and her family, who have a very special connection with Wales.

Pamela’s mum and dad first met in Swansea during World War II, while her dad was serving. After her dad sadly passed away in the early 1970s, Pamela and her mum continued to visit family in Swansea.

Until recently, Pamela hadn’t been back to Wales for many years.

Then her son Ryan, a huge football fan, encouraged his mum to watch Welcome to Wrexham, and last August, the family decided to visit Wrexham and, of course, the Wrexham Miners Project.

What happened next is exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

Pamela and her family were so touched by their visit, the history, the stories and the welcome they received that the connection has continued long after they returned home.

This week, Pamela contacted us with an incredibly generous gift, a 40-inch Smart TV, which will be used at the Wrexham Miners Project to help us with our visitor experience, exhibitions and storytelling.

From Illinois to Wrexham, a family connection that began during World War II has now created a new chapter in the story of the Wrexham Miners Project.

Pamela, thank you. Your generosity means so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful that your visit last August meant enough to you to want to give something back.

As part of CineStwit, a funded project by Ffilm Cymru, Minera Studios and Red Seam celebrating the 100th birthday of The Stiwt Theatre, AC Crump had the privilege of writing and directing his first short film, The Lamp That Never Went Out.

Set around the Wrexham Miners Project and the 1934 Gresford Disaster, the film became much more personal than he ever expected.
