A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Women in STEM event this time last week.

It was fantastic to see people come together to share experiences, learn from one another and celebrate the achievements of women across STEM industries.

A special thank you to our incredible speakers Sarah Collins from Wright Engineering, Archana Prasad from UK Atomic Energy Authority and Katie Phillips from The University of Manchester- MacheSTAR Fusion Society for their inspiring stories and encouragement.

We’re excited to reveal one of our fantastic speakers for our Women in STEM event…

🌟 Archana Prasad 🌟

Get ready to be inspired as Archana shares her journey, insights, and experiences in STEM.

'Archana is a PhD student at Bangor University working in Nuclear Science and Engineering. Her project, sponsored by UK Atomic Energy Authority and based in South Yorkshire, focuses on experimental thermal hydraulics in liquid metals. She completed her integrated master's degree in Materials Science with a specialisation in Nuclear Engineering at Imperial College London in 2023. Throughout her studies, she developed a strong interest in hands-on engineering and experimental research and has now been working in this area for around five years, spanning fusion engineering, materials science, and thermal hydraulics. Her current work involves liquid metal magnetohydrodynamics experiments, contributing to breeder blanket research at UKAEA. Alongside her research, Archana has been actively involved in STEM outreach and teaching for over seven years, with a particular interest in supporting engagement in fusion and nuclear science.'

This is a brilliant opportunity to hear from incredible women making a difference and shaping the future.
