🇺🇸 We’re so excited for this event! 🇺🇸

For weeks we’ve been perfecting our smoking techniques to bring you an authentic taste of Texas right here on the quayside.

Alongside the classic American favourites of burgers and hot dogs, the real stars of the show will be our smoked meat trays, packed with tender beef brisket, smoky chilli & cheese sausages, and slow-cooked pulled pork, all served with a selection of classic American sides.

Soak up the atmosphere by the water as we play iconic American music through the decades, from country classics to rock anthems, while serving up ice-cold beer, delicious cocktails, and plenty of BBQ goodness.

Well, would you look at that! The bridge is back 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 we were closed today due to the foul weather but thanks the Anchor Pub & Kitchen we’ve just seen the news the bridge is back in action and we are open tomorrow to see it IRL 🥰🥰🥰

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking team member to join our busy café.

Hours:
📅 Friday – Sunday 8:30-16:00

The Role:

* Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks
* Operating a coffee machine and making quality coffees
* Cooking simple menu items using a flat griddle
* Providing excellent customer service
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
* Working efficiently during busy periods

What We’re Looking For:
✅ Experience as a barista or experience using a flat griddle/cooking in a café or kitchen environment
✅ Positive attitude and strong work ethic
✅ Ability to work well as part of a team
✅ Friendly and professional with customers
✅ Reliable and punctual

It’s going to be a little cooler Friday, so we won’t cry when you order the BIG breakfast. £9.99 Special price and you get all this…2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 black pudding slices, 2 hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms, 1/2 fried slice, 1 white toast. Cooked fresh to order.

All Change 🫣🙌🏻 so we WILL OPEN FRIDAY 29th from 9am but…close at midday. You can still get your Friday breakfast treat and all those yummy drinks. The fabulous Shelly will be at the helm with Jon on the grill.

Slightly mortifying to show the face, but we left the boat after clean down at 3:30 and I am still so red at 6pm….that boat is HOT 🥵 I manned the grill today…and all I can say is ‘OMG! That was hell’.

Now sat in front of the air conditioner trying to cool down!

Still saw several dogs today in the midday heat 🫣😫 please don’t bring them out, I know they can be terrors when they miss a walk but it’s really not fair on our pooches to drag them over concrete in 33° heat.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is going to be another scorcher so we will serve hot food till 11am and close at 2pm.

We are OPEN Bank Holiday Monday but with a caveat….for the sake of the poor team we will stop serving hot food at 1pm. We may close a bit early if it gets too much 🥵🥵🥵🥵.

We work in a steel boat with a LOT of heat producing equipment… fryers, griddles, panini presses, hot plates, coffee machines, in a metal tube that’s positioned in full sun all day, with air conditioning that has zero effect, 3 fans and the sheer will to keep going. What a team 🥰

The gazebos will be out for some shade, the ice is replenished for the cold drinks, the coffee machine will be going for the maniacs that want a hot drink(!) and we hope you’ll stop by.

On a side note, we are HUGE dog lovers…we all own and love them on the team. Please please please 🙏 do not bring your dogs out to visit 😫 we put out dog water for them but I am so tempted to refuse to serve people who are bringing their dogs out in this heat. No dog died from missing a walk! Tell us you have a dog and we will give you a dog sausage to take home whilst it’s this hot.
