**My Dearest Self,**
Today, I want to stop and honour you.
My beautiful self, I am sorry for every time I was hard on you when you were already hurting. I am sorry for expecting you to have answers when you were simply trying to survive. I am sorry for measuring your healing by how quickly you could smile again.
You were never meant to rush your grief.
You were allowed to mourn.
You were allowed to miss them.
You were allowed to have difficult days.
You were allowed to laugh without feeling guilty.
You were allowed to live again.
Today, I choose to love you gently.
I choose to forgive you for the things you could not control.
I choose to celebrate every battle you survived that nobody else saw.
I choose to honour the tears you cried in silence.
I choose to be proud of the woman who kept going when life kept asking more of her.
You do not have to prove your strength anymore.
You do not have to carry everything alone.
You deserve softness.
You deserve peace.
You deserve joy.
You deserve rest.
You deserve to be loved—not because of everything you endure, but simply because you are you.
There is still life ahead of you.
There are still mornings to wake up to, sunsets to admire, laughter to share, dreams to pursue and memories yet to make.
And perhaps the greatest victory is not that life never defeated you.
It is that life hurt you deeply and you still chose to live.
So, my dear self, take a deep breath.
Put down some of the weight.
Hold your own heart with tenderness.
Walk forward without apologising for the scars you carry.
You have survived so much.
And now, you are allowed to do more than survive.
You are allowed to **live**.
I am proud of you.
I love you.
And after everything you have endured, I promise I will never again underestimate the incredible woman who kept choosing one more day.
