🗞️ NEWSPAPER DELIVERY UPDATE 🗞️

Unfortunately, there has been a major production error affecting newspapers across the South of England this morning, which means our papers are arriving much later than usual. 😩📰

But… you know us — we’re doing everything we can! 💪

🚐 Terry is currently waiting at the depot for the papers to arrive so he can bring them straight back to Barrells and get deliveries underway as quickly as possible.

⏰ Home deliveries WILL be later than usual this morning, so please bear with us.

We know how important that Saturday morning paper is with your first cuppa ☕️🗞️, and we’re really sorry for the delay — unfortunately this one is completely out of our hands.

Thank you, as always, for your patience and understanding ❤️

Team Barrells ☕️📰🚐

☕♻️ Meet our coffee cup character!

Who knew a few used coffee cups could have a second life?

This marvellous little person looked at empty takeaway cups and saw imagination instead of rubbish. By reusing, recycling, and upcycling materials that would otherwise be thrown away, they’ve created this wonderful little character that’s full of personality.

We’re so proud of this fantastic creation and the big environmental message it shares: don’t throw it away—see what it could become instead! 🌍💚

What would you create from a used coffee cup?

This morning, we took matters into our own hands! 💪🗞️

Unfortunately, Menzies’ delivery times continue to let us down ☹️📰, and we know Saturdays are usually even worse.

We know there’s nothing better than settling down with your Saturday morning paper in bed 🛏️☕ or enjoying it with a fresh cup of coffee. We never want our customers to be left waiting, so we made sure our newspaper stands were fully stocked and all our newspaper deliveries were completed as early as possible. ✅🗞️

At 5:00am, Terry headed straight to the distribution centre to collect our newspapers himself and bring them back to Barrells. 🚐🌅

The result? Our papers arrived over two hours earlier than they would have through the usual delivery, meaning they’re ready for our customers first thing this morning. ⏰🙌

We’re continuing to complain to Menzies every day in the hope that our delivery run is moved further up the schedule and this ongoing issue is resolved. 🤞📢

A huge thank you to Terry for the early start and for going the extra mile for our customers. 👏❤️

Crumpet mood: sweet or savoury? 👀

At Barrells of Wivenhoe, we’re serving up warm, buttery crumpets with your choice of:

🍓 Jam – classic and comforting
🍊 Marmalade – a little zingy, a little fancy
🖤 Marmite – controversial… but we respect the bravery

The only real question is… which team are you on?

Team Sweet 🍓🍊
or
Team Marmite 🖤

Pop in, grab a crumpet, and settle the debate the proper way — with butter melting into all those little holes.

Alright folks, as Fearnley would say…

“ Hold on a minute Si - follow that tune!”

This morning the groove leads straight to Barrells of Wivenhoe, where the counter is looking dangerously good thanks to these delightful doughnuts from Black Cat Sourdough. 🍩

Fresh. Golden. Looking absolutely irresistible on the counter this morning.

So go on…
get into the groove and treat yourself and get the shoulders going 🤣🤣
