Today marks the last day of our year as the, ‘UK BII Licensees Of The Year’. It’s been the biggest privilege and pleasure to have had a degree of a voice for the hospitality industry and ‘The Great British Pub’. To represent the truly amazing BII has been an absolute honour. We’ve had a blast and we hope we have have made some kind of positive difference to a truly amazing business sector. We will never stop fighting for the changes that need to happen. Good luck to the absolutely amazing six finalists today at the Summer Event!!

We are absolutely bursting with pride to say that we raised over £35,000 from our charity events with the incredible DEBRA UK over the weekend of 30th and 31st May. Our final week as the reigning UK ‘BII Licensees Of The Year’!!

On top of all the other crazy stuff we do (take last weekend’s charity events for example), the last year has been a blast. From attending incredible events up and down the country, to speaking in front of industry experts and peers showcasing and fighting for the longevity of ‘The Great British Pub’!

It has been a privilege, pleasure and honour to be champions.

But, we must bid you adieu. Next Tuesday we hand over our crown to the next deserving publican. Only this time we have to help decide the 2026 BII Licensee Of The Year as part of the judging panel.

Its been one hell of a ride! We are so damn proud to have held the biggest accolade you can win as a licensee in the industry and to have had a small degree of a voice for the industry we love.

Spearheaded by Tom Kerridge we are backing the campaign, calling for a 10% rate for all hospitality businesses, alongside other trade associations and industry colleagues.

Our members have consistently prioritised a lower rate of VAT, on a par with the majority of Europe, to stimulate growth and investment in our essential sector, and allow us to thrive.
