It’s a very HAPPY 21st Birthday, but also sadly, a farewell, to our wonderful Paisley Hillier …!

What a fantastic member of the team she’s been, but is heading off to university and a life of amazing adventures.

We’re sad to see her go, but grateful for her time with us and wish her well with all she has ahead of her (which will include lots of acting. So keep an eye out for her on your telly).

Happy Birthday and Thank You Paisley…! 👏🏼

Today, we open at 4pm.
Same again on Thursday for 1/2 price w**e & Prosecco.
12pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday for lunch and then drinks until late.

It’s going to be another fab five days here at The Tav.

Morning All. Hope you’re week is going well so far. Our week of work at The Tavern starts today (Wednesday). We open at ...

Morning All. Hope you’re week is going well so far. Our week of work at The Tavern starts today (Wednesday). We open at 4pm with our fresh stock of rested real ales, at the perfect cellar temperature of 13°c, as well as chilled keg l***r, c***r, IPA and of course that famous Irish stout.
Thursday we open at 4pm again and it’s 1/2 Price W**e & Prosecco, with plenty of choices of reds, whites and rosé.

Then, Friday & Saturday we open at 12 for Tyler’s traditional pub lunches of homemade pies, his much loved fish & chips, schnitzels, steaks and more.

On Sunday, we open at 12, but once again, we’re fully booked for Roasts for the next 2 weeks, but we do have some spaces for Sunday 18th at the moment.

Finally, to cap our week off in style, the absolutely brilliant Rhiannon Fitzgerald will be hosting our monthly Open Mic night from 7pm. Everyone is welcome, either to perform, or simply enjoy the excellent music and cosy atmosphere.

Yesterday, Ben lit our lovely open fire. The tavern filled with customers for the Sunday Roasts and the real ale was excellent too. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Thank You to ALL that came.

We’re fully booked again for next Sunday already, but it’s monthly Open Mic night 🎶 from 7pm in the evening and we’d love to see you for that, or any other time.

We open at 4pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 12pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

WE WON IT..! “Pub Of The Year Award” 🏆

On Monday night, we took some of the Tavern Team up to the brewery for the annual awards night. As always, Hook Norton Brewery had organised a super event at their beautiful place.
We enjoyed lots of drinks and a delicious meal, and that would’ve been enough, but you can’t imagine our delight when Mr James Clarke, the managing director of the brewery, announced at the end of the award ceremony that the winners of the pinnacle prize “Pub Of The Year” goes to a fellow hardworking family business in the beautiful market town of Witney, The Eagle Tavern…!!!!

It was such a treat to have Kiara, Jess and Ben there with us. And we’d like to thank and congratulate ALL our staff.. but, also all of YOU for helping us make The Tavern such a magical place to be.
A pub is only as good as its people, including the customers 🧡

We’ve just opened tonight to start another working week and hope to see you for a celebratory drink soon.

But in the meantime, here’s to Everyone and another great year to come.

We open today at 12 for our second Roasts of the season, but we are fully booked again.
You can drop in for a pint or a glass of w**e or something though.

And maybe book your roast for next weekend(?) We currently have 2 tables left to fill and 4 for the following one.

The logs are here, so what do you think? Too early today? It kind of feels like we could.

We open today (Wednesday) at 4pm to start our week.
4pm Thursday for 1/2 Price W**e.

Today is another great day for our “Whitby to Witney” fish & chips, or anything else on Tyler’s menu.

Available from 12pm to 3pm.

Tomorrow’s return of our Sunday Roasts is fully booked, but we do have a couple of tables left for the other Sundays in September. So please send us a Direct Message if you’d like to book one of those too.
