Cumbrian food historian John Crouch has recreated The Bridge House, Ambleside, one of the Lake District's most iconic landmarks, entirely in gingerbread.

It's a taste of what's coming to The Gingerbread House Festival, hosted by Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa in partnership with the iconic Grasmere Gingerbread, running from Friday 20th November to Sunday 22nd November.

The festival is FREE to attend across all three days. Building and entering your own Gingerbread House costs £20, with £10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs and half of every entry fee going to Shelter.

Following the success of its previous public flights, Waterbird is taking to the skies again. Watch the award-winning replica seaplane fly by Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, from south to north, on Friday 4th September.
 
There’s also a display from the Aviat Husky, a more modern seaplane showing the long legacy that Waterbird inspired. The original Waterbird, built by A. V. Roe & Co. in 1911, first flew as a landplane before being converted to a seaplane right here on Windermere.
 
Watch from the front lawns at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, framed by the Langdale Pikes. Food and drink available to buy, and it’s free to watch.

Meet Milly, our new Wellness Host at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa.

She's just launched free yoga sessions for guests staying with us, an hour of gentle movement and breathwork set against the Lake District scenery. Suitable for all abilities, mats and blocks provided.

Sessions run Sunday to Tuesday evenings and Friday to Saturday mornings, bookable up to seven days ahead. It's the first step in a wider wellness programme, with more to follow over the coming months.

Something new is waiting on the water. Winander, our beautifully restored 1929 wooden launch, is back sailing across Windermere from our private jetty at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa.

Step aboard from Friday 4th September to Saturday 10th October.

Every Friday, join our Cannon Ch*****ne Cruise, timed around the firing of our cannon at 5pm. Every Saturday, sail out on our Ch*****ne and Canapés Cruise as the evening light settles over the lake.

Both include a glass of ch*****ne and canapés, with a host on board throughout. £55 per person, weekends only, exclusively for resort guests.
