🍻 THE HALF MOON & SPREAD EAGLE – AT THE HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY! 🍻

Well, what a morning! If ever there was proof that a village pub is about far more than pulling pints, today was it! 💚

We were absolutely delighted to support the Dever Society and our wonderful local community with today's village litter pick – and what a turnout!

A few rather impressive statistics from the morning:
🧤 Over 40 volunteers turned out to help.
🗑️ 24 large bags of rubbish collected.
💪 2 hours of proper graft around the village.
🥓 30 bacon sandwiches to fuel the troops!
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A fantastic mix of young and old, all mucking in together.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Sunday morning to make our village a cleaner, tidier and more beautiful place to live.
Special thanks to local business WhiteFoot Contracting for their fantastic support, and to Wi******er City Council, who have kindly agreed to collect our mountain of rubbish tomorrow morning.

We're immensely proud that the Half Moon & Spread Eagle can play its part in bringing people together, supporting the Dever Society and giving something back to the community that supports us.

A proper village pub should be at the heart of village life – and today was a wonderful reminder of exactly why that matters.

Great people. Great community. Great bacon sandwiches. And 24 bags of rubbish that won't be spoiling our countryside anymore!

Well done, everyone. Same again next time! 👏🍻

🌿 Micheldever Litter Pick tomorrow! 🌿

The The Dever Society community litter pick in collaboration with WhiteFoot Contracting is taking place tomorrow, meeting at the Half Moon & Spread Eagle.

Come down from 9:30am for complimentary bacon sandwiches, tea and coffee before heading out for the litter pick from 10am–1pm. A great chance to get the family involved and help keep Micheldever looking its best.

And if you fancy rewarding yourself with a Sunday roast afterwards, we’d recommend booking ahead as tables are filling up fast!

The nights are drawing in, which means it’s officially comfort food season 🍂

Our new autumn menu has landed at the Half Moon & Spread Eagle, Micheldever, with plenty of new dishes alongside some pub favourites.

There’s slow-braised beef short rib with creamy mash, Tenderstem broccoli, carrots and red w**e jus, or our corn-fed chicken supreme with potato gratin, wild mushrooms, spinach and pan jus.

If you fancy something a little more traditional, you can’t go far wrong with our ale-battered haddock and chips, followed by a slice of treacle tart with clotted cream ice cream.

Cosy pub, good food, a pint or a glass of red. Autumn isn’t all bad.

Our new menu is available now.
