🍳 WE’RE HIRING | EXPERIENCED KITCHEN TEAM MEMBER
We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Team Member to join us at River Cale Café in Wincanton from the end of December.
We’re a busy, independent café serving freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches, and we’re looking for someone who is confident working in a kitchen environment and can become a reliable part of our small team.
Previous professional kitchen/catering experience is essential for this position.
HOURS & ROTA
This is a permanent position working 3 days per week on a 2-week rotating rota, averaging 23 hours per week.
WEEK 1
Tuesday • Wednesday • Thursday
8:30am – 4:30pm
WEEK 2
Wednesday • Saturday
8:30am – 4:30pm
Sunday
8:30am – 2:30pm

THE ROLE
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of our kitchen, including:
• Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes
• Food preparation and mise en place
• Working confidently during busy breakfast and lunch services
• Maintaining high standards of food presentation and consistency
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked
• Following food hygiene procedures
• Following allergen and cross-contamination procedures carefully
• Supporting the wider café team when required
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has previous professional kitchen or catering experience
• Is confident preparing and cooking food during service
• Can stay organised and calm when the kitchen gets busy
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and allergen procedures
• Is reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a small team
• Is available to work the full rotating pattern, including alternate Saturdays and Sundays
As a café with a strong focus on gluten-free food, allergen awareness and preventing cross-contamination are particularly important to us. Full training on our procedures will be provided.
