The Cricketers Arms in Wimborne is a community pub that has both Sky Sports and BT Sport which combined with our 5 TV screens means we cover all sports events. In keeping with the traditional sporting pub theme we have a pool table and multiple dart boards available for use. 🏆🍺 TEAM CRICKS DOES THE GREAT BRITISH PUB AWARDS! 🍺🏆

Well… what a few days that turned out to be. 😂

We set off for Leeds with two competition winners, a questionable amount of alcohol and dreams of bringing home the Great British Pub Award for Best Pub to Watch Sport 2026 🏆

What followed was pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a Cricks away day… 🍻😂

Unfortunately, illness had other ideas for our landlord Carl and meant he ended up watching the actual awards from his bed 🤒😂 — but Aaron, Michael and Billy got suited and booted and represented The Cricks at the big night.

We didn't bring the trophy back to Wimborne this time, but being named one of the FINAL 6 pubs in the entire country for Best Pub to Watch Sport is something we're incredibly proud of. ❤️

And the best bit?

We got there because of YOU LOT.

Every person who watches a match with us, plays darts, drinks with us, works behind the bar, shares our posts, recommends us or simply calls The Cricks their local has played a part in what this pub has become.

Our sponsored pro Tommy “The Gun” Morris has only gone and made THE SUN after apparently leaving darts fans “IN SHOCK” with his trademark Tommy Gun celebration. 😂

Tommy came through an absolute squeaky-bum 6–5 last-leg dec***r against Levy Frauenfelder and naturally celebrated in the only appropriate way…

🏆💔 WELL… THIS WASN’T QUITE THE PLAN. 💔🏆

Tonight is the Great British Pub Awards, a night I’ve been ridiculously excited about ever since we found out The Cricks had made the final for Best Pub to Watch Sport.

Unfortunately, I’ve managed to come down with some sort of virus at possibly the worst time imaginable. 🤦‍♂️🤒

So while the lads are currently getting suited and booted ready for the big night, this is my glamorous view… 😂👇

I genuinely can’t explain how gutted I am to be missing it.

BUT… The Cricks will still be represented! 💪🍺

Aaron will be there alongside our two competition winners, Michael Zajac and Billy Tierling, flying the flag for us and hopefully bringing a certain trophy back to Wimborne. 👀🏆

The whole ceremony is being LIVE STREAMED ON YOUTUBE TONIGHT, so get it on your TVs, phones, tablets — whatever you’ve got — and send the boys some good luck through the screen! 😂❤️

Whatever happens tonight, getting The Cricks into the national final again is something we’re incredibly proud of.

But seeing as I’ve sacrificed myself to the sick bed for the cause…
