Our Volunteer of the Month is Linda!

Congratulations Linda, and thank you so much for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated.

Linda is another of our long-standing volunteers, having joined us almost five years ago. She has already clocked up over 200 hours in the shop this year and she regularly jumps in at short notice to help us out when a shift is not fully-filled. Thank you Linda!
When asked what she finds most enjoyable about volunteering at the shop Linda said it was the laughter and friendship!

🌿 Wigginton Wild – August 2026 🌿

Dusty stubble fields, hedgerow plants going to seed, common knapweed buzzing with bumblebees, hummingbird hawkmoths and even robin's pincushion galls on dog rose... August is full of fascinating wildlife in and around Wigginton.

This Wednesday, 5th August, is the first Wednesday of the month, so we will be hosting another Compassionate Cafe session in conjunction with Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.

These sessions provide a safe space for those experiencing bereavement or loss to meet with others who will understand and listen.
There is no need to book; please just pop in between 1:30 and 3pm if you feel this would be beneficial. We look forward to seeing you.

Our pot of is well established now. Please come and help yourself to leaves and cuttings. Great for your mojito or Pimms, but why not try a Watermelon, Feta and Mint Salad or a Mint Pesto (just swap basil for mint!) and stir into fresh pasta - delish!😋

Some of our volunteers got to grips with potentially live-saving skills yesterday evening, thanks to Peter and Jo, some of our local Community First Responders. It was a fabulously informative session on dispelling the myths around performing CPR and using the defibrillator. Thank you everyone! 💚
