Our King of Marathons and the running legend that is Peter completed the London Marathon on Sunday in 4:14:27
Well done Peter an absolutely brilliant run and an absolutely brilliant fundraiser collaboration 💖
I have said it before but Peter you are an inspiration to so many of us thank you 🤩

The total for the fundraising page has reached over £7.5k added to this the £1.5k that Donald raised from the squat challenge and that’s over £9000 that we have raised so far for Cancer Research 💖

And we are not stopping there! Carriann’s journey is far from over so we will continue to fundraise for her 💖

I just want to take a moment to wish the running legend that is our Peter the very best of luck tomorrow with his trot around London 🤣🏃🏼‍♂️🙌🏻🚀
I know you will absolutely smash it and have Carriann and Brenda in your thoughts all the way 💖

It has been an absolute honour and privilege to not only help you fundraise but to join you on lots of your training runs including all but one of the Sunday long runs! We have had some laughs and fun along the way and am sure it won’t be long before we are training together again for something or other 🤣😉

Peter you are a superstar go enjoy the day and cannot wait to see you and hear all about it 💖

It’s now less than 2 week to go to London Marathon 🙌🏻
Peter is now tapering his runs with plenty of rest and getting ready for the big day 🤩🏃🏼‍♂️🚀

We have raised almost £6K now which is amazing and to help get a little more we are running a little competition so see who can guess the time for Peters London marathon with the closest to it winning……

I don’t really know where to begin…

Fundraising is something that I seem to be doing a lot of and I guess some might say am enjoying and getting a little bit good at??

I honestly thought nothing could ever beat the day I wore the tena pants at the cafe before we were supposed to do the skydive and we raised over £300 for Alzheimer’s - it was a crazy day and one I will always remember.

Fast forward 18 months and I am now wearing a bejazzled bra to raise money for Cancer Research 💖

Never did I expect people to be so amazing 🤩
Never did I expect to be so emotional 🥹
Never when I thought of this idea did I think we could raise over £600 for Cancer Research in one day by wearing an amazing bra stickered up by Carriann’s daughter Gracie Mai 💖🥰

Added to this the end of the squat challenge and everyone coming to support those who’d been doing them and doing them altogether for the final time 🙌🏻

People are truly amazing and when you make a fool of yourself and it’s for a good cause people are behind you 110% 💖

When you have someone you love and care about going though cancer treatment it helps to have a distraction and a focus and today when Carriann arrived at the cafe to surprise everyone I couldn’t help but hug her tightly and shed a tear or two with her after what I can only describe as a phenomenal day 🤩

If you come down to the cafe tomorrow you’re in for a few surprises… 🧁🍒💖

Tomorrow marks the end of 100 squats a day in February for Cancer Research. Although a few have fallen by the wayside we have had a few customers stick at it and (almost) complete it and raise more money towards Cancer Research - thank you so much 💖

As tomorrow is the last day we have invited our amazing squatters to come to the cafe in the afternoon to complete the last day of squats altogether with a few more of us to join in!

So from 3.30pm we invite you to the cafe to prepare for the final squats at around 3.45pm! There will of course be boobie buns on sale for you all to enjoy (all money to CR) as well as coffee and scones for everyone who has completed the challenge ❤️ plus a few surprises throughout the day….. you have to be there to see and believe it!!!💕🧁💖🍒🧁

Look who came for coffee at the cafe yesterday morning ❤️

This was Carriann’s first visit back to the cafe since starting her treatment. Even though we sat outside plenty of people got the chance to see her and say hello ❤️

It was so lovely to have her back for a few hours the cafe has been far too quiet and dull without her. We miss her bubbly infectious personality and bonkersness ❤️

It was also lovely that Peter and Carriann could see each other after Peter ‘our running legend’ decided to run the London Marathon for Carriann and we are now helping him to fundraise for Cancer Research.

Yesterday Peter reached an amazing milestone of £2500 for Cancer Research and Peter, Carriann and myself cannot thank you all enough for your support and donations so far 🤩

So from us all a very BIG ❤️T H A N K Y O U❤️ you are all amazing 🤩 ###

Bustin’ Bums for B***s 🍑🍒

So to kick off our fundraising for Carriann & Cancer Research some of our customers and staff have decided to do…..

100 squats… a day… in February!
… yes 100 a day!
… for 28 days!
That’s a lot of squats and a lot of sore…..😅

We have gym squatters and new squatters, pro squatters and senior squatters - in fact any squatter is welcome to join! All we ask is you collect a few donations to add to our collection pot or add a donation online 🥰
Every squatter who successfully completes the challenge will of course be rewarded with a coffee and scone 😊

We also plan to do a ‘final 100 squats’ altogether on Saturday 28 February at the cafe - let’s hope the rain has stopped by then!!

To kickstart the squatting weekend we have on sale tomorrow boobie buns 🍒@£2 each - all money to go to Cancer Research 💖

We know you will be dying to get your hands on them - they can be bought individually or as a pair but please note no two pairs are the same 😂🍒

So as Carriann rightly pointed out Peter is doing all the hard work as he is running the marathon! However, even on a wet and chilly Sunday morning I joined him on a training run - 16 miles and my longest run to date 🙌🏻🏃🏼‍♀️ what a morning and what a great feeling to have run that far!!!🤩

To say we have all been blown away with everyone’s support so far is an understatement. Honestly from the bottom of our hearts thank you to you all 💖 you are all amazing! ❤️

💖 Boobie Support Team 💖

As most of you know by now our lovely Carriann was diagnosed with Breast Cancer just before Christmas and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

Her road to recovery is going to be a long, bumpy and difficult one but by the end of it she will be cancer FREE 💖

The messages of support and love that have been coming in are testament to how much Carriann is loved at the cafe.

Carriann has always been a fun loving bubbly person but now is being brave and strong and we are all so proud of her and admire her so much for how she is coping. She is a beautiful person inside and out and through all the pain, upset and tears we have still managed to make her laugh and smile.

Carriann please know how much we all love you and how amazing you are ❤️

With Carriann's blessing we are fundraising for Cancer Research at the cafe to help fund vital research into defeating this horrible disease.

Before Carriann’s diagnosis a very good friend of the cafe and my running friend asked me if we would help him fundraise as he had secured a place in this year’s London Marathon. At 76 Peter has run 7 marathons already although never any of the majors and quite literally is a running legend in Wetherby.

Peter’s wife died of lymphoma 7 years ago so he was already raising money for Cancer Research. With the news of Carriann’s diagnosis Peter is now determined to raise even more. Added to this another of our lovely customers has just found out that she has breast cancer for a third time so fundraising at the cafe seems like the right thing to do ❤️

We have a donation pot at the cafe and will be doing some fundraising over the next few months (so watch this space) and the link to Peter’s fundraising page is below.

Anything you can give to support Peter, Diane and our lovely Carriann will be greatly appreciated. They are all so eternally grateful for all the support ❤️
