A taste of autumn at The Windmill Inn.

Our kitchen has been busy preparing some wonderful seasonal specials, bringing together comforting favourites and beautifully crafted dishes, perfect for the cooler evenings.

On our specials board this week:

Homemade Fish Pie – rich, creamy and wonderfully comforting.

Pan-Fried Hake – served with a Spanish-style seafood broth, butter beans and chorizo.

Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank – tender lamb served with buttery mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables and a rich gravy.

Cajun Fish Tacos – full of fresh, vibrant flavours and a little preview of what's to come. These will feature on our brand-new menu, launching next week!

With a new menu just around the corner, there's plenty to look forward to at The Windmill.

In the meantime, join us for some delicious food, a glass of something lovely and a warm welcome by the fire.

We've had a few rather unusual guests move in just in time for Halloween… and they've made themselves right at home! 🕸️🦇

The Windmill has had a spooky little makeover!

A first taste of what’s to come…

Our new menu is coming soon, and we’re revealing the first dish: handmade egg pappardelle with a white w**e, cream and broccoli sauce, finished with truffle oil, charred almonds and Parmesan shavings 😍 🥦

You can try it on our specials menu this week. We also have three more dishes available as specials only, so catch these while they’re here:

Our Christmas menu is here, and bookings are now open! 🎄

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to The Windmill for festive lunches, family get-togethers and a lovely excuse to catch up with friends over good food.
There’s plenty to tempt you, from ham hock terrine and salmon en croûte to slow-braised short rib, a traditional turkey dinner and chocolate orange bread & butter pudding.

Available from 1st December right through to Christmas Eve, 24th December inclusive. ✨

A little look back at our lovely Windmill Inn. 📷

We’ve found these old photographs and couldn’t resist sharing them. The cars, the familiar stone walls, a roaring fire inside… and quite a gathering outside! It’s lovely to see the pub through the years and think of all the people who have spent time here.

Apparently, the tree outside was planted to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo. We’d love to hear more if anyone knows the story.

We do love our cars at The Windmill, and it was a pleasure to welcome the Lotus Group yesterday. A lovely collection of cars and a great group of enthusiasts - thank you for joining us!

With our large car park and welcoming pub, The Windmill is a lovely spot to bring fellow car enthusiasts together over good food and a drink. We also offer personalised set menus to suit your group and make your gathering that little bit more special.
