Congratulations North Somerset Council and Weston Parking Attendants. 😡😡

Not only did you block off the an entire stretch of parking on Knightstone Causeway for 2 whole days - turns out it was for an hours work for one white van who didn't even park in one of the reserved spaces - you couldn't make it up!

In addition we witnessed the most remarkable bit of skullduggery on Wednesday morning. Due to the high winds all the cones and notices blew away overnight so when cars came down in the morning to use the Cafe there was nothing there to say the spaces were blocked out, hence someone parked, paid for and displayed a valid ticket. About half an hour later we saw the Parking Attendant arrive, he parked his van, got out and walked up to the end of the causeway to retrieve one of the cones with the restriction notice on. We then watched in disbelief as he walked over to the parked car (with the valid ticket), placed the cone next it to and began taking photos. You can guess what happened next - out came his ticket machine and he issued a parking notice. Bystanders who witnessed this challenged him about what he thought he was doing and, his rouse rumbled he simply sneered, smirked and snapped "its not your car so nothing to do with you, if they don't like it they can appeal"

What a charming individual and a credit to the council not! We would love to know who at North Somerset trained him to manipulate and stage fake photos just so the council can issue more tickets and how often other things like this happen in our town🤷‍♂️😡

There appears to be a parking restriction in operation on Knightstone Island from Tuesday 24th - Wednesday 25th March outside the cafe. Helpfully North Somerset Council have put the restriction notices out first thing today instead of waiting until close of business this afternoon. We cannot give you any further information regarding timings or anything as North Somerset Council or the Seafront Management haven't had the courtesy to contact us or give us any information. Why are we not surprised 😳?

We are still open as normal and look forward to seeing you!

would anyone from North Somerset Council like to explain why they have taken all information about paying Business rates in the normal monthly instalments off the new bills!!?? Anyone would think this useless organisation were trying to make it as
complicated and as difficult as possible for small businesses so that we end up missing the first payment so they can then force us into having to pay in full in advance🤷‍♂️👀

We are looking for an enthusiastic and easy going individual with some experience of working in a fast-paced café environment to join our small team to assist in the kitchen alongside our Head Chef as a kitchen assistant / cook.

This will be a permanent position (following a satisfactory probation period) and could be a full time, or for the right candidate, part-time position to fit around your needs. Hours would be predominantly daytime shifts between the 8.30 – 4.30pm to cover breakfast and lunch although some flexibility will be required to work occasional evenings for functions and special events.

Candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain, a minimum of a level 2 certificate in Food safety and Hygiene, have knowledge of SFBB regulations and have had practical experience in a similarly fast paced catering environment.
