🧡 What’s it like to become an international volunteer co-worker at Sturts?

We’re here with Ellie, chatting about her experience of joining our community and sharing in everyday life here.
From working alongside companions to getting to know new people, becoming a co-worker is about the relationships you build as well as the work you do. Everyone brings their own skills, ideas and experiences, with plenty to learn from one another along the way. 🌱
In this video, Ellie shares her own perspective on being part of Sturts, the wider community that Gullivers belongs to.
Have a watch and hear her story. Could this be your next chapter too?
We welcome enquiries from the UK and overseas.

🎃 WE NEED YOUR HELP! VOLUNTEERS WANTED! 🎃

Pumpkin Fest is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year, helping us continue creating meaningful opportunities for adults with additional support needs through our social enterprise, Gullivers Farm Shop. 💚

We’re looking for some wonderful volunteers to help us bring the event to life!

Whether you can spare a few hours or a whole day, we’d love your support with:

🚗 Car parking – welcoming visitors and helping everything run smoothly.

🎯 Games & activities – helping families enjoy all the fun of Pumpkin Fest.

🎠 Carousel – supporting our little visitors as they enjoy a ride!

📅 17th, 18th , 24th 25th & 31st October

Every volunteer makes a real difference, helping us raise vital funds while creating a fantastic community event for local families.

Could you spare a few hours to support us? We’d be so grateful! 💚

Please send us a message if you’d like to get involved.

LIVE. LEARN. SHARE. GROW. 🌱

What does being a Volunteer Co-worker at Sturts actually mean?

It’s more than volunteering. Co-workers from the UK and around the world spend 6–12 months living and sharing everyday life within our community — working alongside people with learning disabilities, building friendships, learning practical skills and contributing to life at Sturts.

From the farm and garden to workshops, shared meals and community celebrations, it’s about doing life together — learning from one another and recognising that everyone has something to contribute.

🧡 Live. Learn. Share. Grow.

What if your next year was about more than just work?

Our Volunteer Co-Worker Programme is an opportunity to become part of life at Sturts Community Trust — living, working and learning alongside others within an inclusive community.

You’ll get involved in meaningful, hands-on work across our community, developing practical and vocational skills, building relationships, sharing experiences and contributing to the lives of the people we support.

And it works both ways. You bring your own skills, ideas, personality and experiences too. That exchange — learning from one another and growing together — is what makes being a co-worker so special. 🧡

We welcome enquiries from both the UK and overseas, with placements designed for those who want to properly immerse themselves in community life.

One week until pumpkin picking opens at Gullivers! 🎃

From 12th October, you can explore the patch and find a pumpkin to take home. Go for the biggest one you can spot, a little one that’s just right for small hands, or the most unusual shape in the field. Our Market Garden team has spent months growing them, and we’re excited for you to see what they’ve grown.

Coming for the first time? Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, dress for the weather and let the children take their time choosing. Picking the perfect one is half the fun!

There’s more to come at Pumpkin Fest on 17–18 October, 24–25 October and 31 October, with family activities, crafts, games, live music and food and drink alongside pumpkin picking.

We want to know what the children have planned for their pumpkins this year. A spooky carving, a funny face, or something completely different?

🧡 Meet the makers behind our Gullivers Botanical range

There’s a story behind every product we make at Gullivers.

Our Botanical range is lovingly made here by the people we support, with each person bringing their own skills, ideas and contribution to the process — from carefully measuring and mixing ingredients to creating the finished products you see in our Farm Shop.

This Christmas, we’d love to invite you to Meet the Makers and discover more about the people, creativity and purpose behind the range.

Come along, meet some of the team, hear their stories and see how our bath salts, body balms, lip balms and other Botanical products are brought to life.

It’s about much more than the finished product. It’s about skills, confidence, creativity and being part of something meaningful. 🧡
