Named Pub & Bar Magazine Best Pub in Hertfordshire & the East of |England in 2019. The White Hart dates back to 1681 and it was Welwyn's main coaching inn. It was a popular overnight stop for travellers going north from London and at one point it offered fourteen beds for
humans and stabling for thirty four horses. It was also home to the village courtroom, where petty sessions were held, when mis

demeanours may have included theft and assault and, ironically,
drunkenness. For lunch & dinner the restaurant offers an A la Carte menu as well as a bar snack & sharers menu. The bar is open all day where you can pop in for a pint of real ale or have cocktails & G&T's before
your meal. The extensive wine list consists of wines carefully selected by one of the brothers James who enjoys nothing more than recommending & discussing wine. The kitchen uses quality ingredients that are the drive for delicious, well thought out & creative dishes.

Introducing our Summer roast 😍

If a traditional Sunday lunch sounds too heavy to enjoy in this heat…. we feel you! So this Sunday we will be offering a lighter roast option, so you can still get your roast fix but without the meat sweats. Choose from our regular Sunday roast meats & they will be served up with BBQ salad, feta, coriander salad cream, fries, aioli & chilli sauce.

Bookings advised, visit whitehartwelwyn.co.uk. Traditional Sunday lunch also still available.

Who’s that?….It’s Dad!

Today’s post is a special Father’s Day edition of ‘who’s that’ - honouring Tom & James’s Dad, Ian. Ian plays a huge roll in the running of the pub, organising accounts, keeping ontop of finances & providing business advice (something he knows a little about). When he’s not in front of the laptop he loves to play golf & tennis & maintain his wonderful garden.

Like father, like son, he also loves to dine out, his wine of choice is our Portuguese Douro & he loves a juicy pork tomahawk steak.

Amelie is our Head Waitress & this apprenticeship has taught her how to navigate the tricky move to middle-management & improve her communication & training skills. We are so proud of her! 🌺
