It is with regret we share this sad news. All the current team at The Windmill share our condolences. I’m sure many of our patrons, friends and the wider community, past and present, will send the same. RIP Emma.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Emma Cole.

Emma was the devoted partner of Matthew Rudd, mother to Ella, Connie & Seth, and a much-loved friend to so many.

Emma worked alongside Matthew throughout their lives, building thriving community pubs together. As the owners of The Nelson Arms, Matthew has always had Emma by his side, and she was the face behind the scenes of the Nelly - dedicating so much of her time, care and heart to the pub and its community.

Please join us in celebrating Emma’s life on Wednesday 19th August at 1pm at Kent & Sussex Crematorium. In true Emma spirit, we would love for those coming along to wear bright, bold colours - a reflection of the joy and warmth she brought to so many people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today to remember him 🫶

Though he will always be missed, his spirit remains a permanent fixture here at Larkins.

Absolute pleasure serving one of our most loved customers Margaret Maddison aka Royal Grandma on Sunday.At a young age of just 99 she heartily tucked into a chicken roast and just in case she struggled Alfonse aka fonz was offering to assist should it be required.
