What a performance from England last night! If they continue playing football like that, this could be the start of a truly phenomenal World Cup campaign. The atmosphere in the Red Lion was electric, with the pub packed full of supporters cheering on the Three Lions.
Unfortunately, the evening did not end as we would have liked. Within 15 minutes of the game starting , an isolated incident involving unwanted and unacceptable behaviour occurred at the pub.
Throughout my time at the Red Lion, I have put my heart and soul into making this pub a safe, welcoming community venue for everyone, and I will not allow the actions of a small minority to tarnish that.
The police attended, CCTV footage has been handed over, and we will fully support any action taken. Let me be absolutely clear, this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.
The safety of our customers, team and community will always come first. As a result, for all remaining England games, we will have door security in place to ensure everyone can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere safely.
Please rest assured that the Red Lion remains committed to providing the best place to watch the World Cup, and we cannot wait to welcome you all back for Tuesday nightโs game.
The atmosphere will be bigger, better and louder than ever!
