We made it 2 wins from 2 in the league with a solid performance against a spirited Corbridge side.
Cave had us ahead after 10 mins, as Cameron found him with a threaded pass and the in form winger made no mistake. 1-0.
Corbridge striker then scored a goal he would have only ever done before on FIFA, as he belted one into Walton’s top corner from 30 yards after Joey Trotter gave him the assist. The Lanchester lads won’t want him back in a hurry. 1-1.
H.Murray then got us back ahead soon after. Trotter made amends as he headed a Forsyth freekick back across goal, and Murray finished it from close range. 2-1.
Cave was then scythed down in the box and penalty was awarded. Forsyth stepped up and tucked it away. 3-1.
HT. An injured Andy Hall and Lee Rand led the team talk and asked for more of the same.
On 60 mins, Norman extended our lead. He latched on to a long ball from Forsyth and turned the right back inside out before finishing across goal from a tight angle. 4-1.
Corbridge then got another back as their player was adjudged to have been onside by only one man and he had our flag, Adam Hall. The winger finished it and Hall was rightly awarded duck egg by the chairman.
4-2.
We made all 5 subs across the half and it was 2 of those who made the last goal. Alex Carr was taken down while running through and Gardner stepped up to r***e the free-kick in, after some dubious setting up of the wall. 5-2.
Fair play to Corbridge who kept pushing til the end.
