The multi award-winning Black Country Arms, situated in High Street, Walsall, is one of the town's most ancient hostelries, dating back to as early as 1627. Formerly the Green Dragon, the pub is now part of the ever-expanding Black Country Ales chain and Walsall's leading real ale pub, with no fewer than 20 hand pulls featuring cask ales and ciders from across the UK.

After Hednesford, Cannock, Landywood and Bloxwich, Neil from Neil’s Real Ale & Pub Page and I will be heading into Walsall for the final part of the day.

Walsall grew from an old market town into a major Black Country industrial centre, becoming particularly well known for leatherworking, saddlery and metal trades.

We’ve got seven pubs lined up around the town, with a good mix of well-known real ale pubs and more traditional locals. It should be a great way to finish off the day before heading back to Birmingham later on. 🍻
