We are a neighbourhood bakery based in Deal, Kent owned by pastry chef Kate Ampomah. Trading since 2014, Kate previously worked in top bakeries in London and San Francisco before setting up her own bakery and workshop. We are a small but dedicated team of professionals and cake lovers, and we bake fresh every day for a range of trade and private customers. You can order via our website, but we als

o love a cake chat so please do get in touch if you would like something particular. You can also pick up our bakery goods each Saturday from Deal Town Market. Flours are organic and we prefer a range of heritage grains for maximum flavour. Butter is organic and our eggs are fresh and free range from local farmers. We use seasonal flavours and ingredients alongside our fresh floral decorations, inspired by the beach and country surroundings.

Summer weddings 2026… proving to be all about the single tier oversized dessert!

The most fragrant Kentish berries for this East London wedding pavlova at the weekend, covered in stabilised vanilla chantilly, and around 5kg of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Or if something stronger is your bag, a giant coffee soaked tiramisu cake at the Turner in Margate. Both totally show stopping, and top perk for the pav was getting to secretly see the wedding festivities in full swing as I was setting up that afternoon! Usually all the BTS is going on that morning before the flowers are set up or the tables are dressed- so it’s a nice change to see the hard work in all its glory!

Happy Father’s Day to our No.1. This man was born to be a Daddy, and shows our lucky kids every day how cherished, loved and appreciated they are in a myriad of small and large ways. He parents with endless patience, and will give up every last shred of time and money to ensure our kids are living out their dreams. Whether it’s coaching their sports teams, hunting down Pokémon cards, or playing woodland fairy carriage driver, he’s always got their backs.💛 And yes, he got some special Fathers Day cakes, and no, he did not get a lie in today 😆.

Finally feeling like June with some ☀️ and this Mexican themed colour way for a birthday baby shower party cake! 🌺🌸🌼 Sheet cakes are the cake slicer’s dream, AND always look amazing!

Feel bit like a broken record in a good way at the moment! Another busy week of weddings, birthdays, market, cafe cakes and this beaut amongst them… trying to squeeze in something other than work and parenting during Wedding Season feels like an elusive pipe dream 😆. Somewhere amongst all the children and work juggles it was our ten year wedding anniversary yesterday, and honestly, wow, time flies when you’re having fun! Special shout out to my beautiful girl Charlotte Breckwoldt for sending flowers from the other side of the world too! 💛

The third wedding of the week down and dusted and as ever, a gorge venue and lovely couples to work with! Not featured, an insomniac two year old, incoming duckling prep 🐣, half term shenanigans, melted butter and an awful lot of iced coffee!

Ahhh Hi there Friday! Baking cakes in this heat is no joke, but still cracking out some brilliant commissions! Shout out for this cake from the weekend (that legit nearly broke me ((my delivery driver and colleagues will attest 😆) for to celebrate their 5 MILLIONTH visitor! Woah! Thank god for dowel and walk in fridges… oh and a special shoutout to the ever patient and wonderful for her sterling job on railings. One of us (not me) was able to see the matrix of angles and ratios to recreate them!

It’s been a week of three weddings and a funeral on the big orders front, and a smattering of birthday and first anno cakes, amongst the cafe orders. But next up, market day tomorrow and there’s some mega treats for and end of May weekend blowout!

A wholesome weekend in the sunshine with precious people. Not ready to go back to reality tomorrow! 💛
