Looking for a friendly space to pause and connect with others? Chatty Café sessions take place every Wednesday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm at Dreamshine Cafe in Wallsend Library ☕

These relaxed, welcoming sessions are hosted by volunteers and open to anyone who would enjoy a chat. Whether it is a quick cuppa or a longer conversation, the focus is simply on bringing people together, sparking conversation and helping everyone feel a little more connected 💬

Our NEW kids and adult sandwich boxes have been popular this morning. These can be made to order with fillings of choice. We will also be adding them to our pre-packed service. The kids box is a bargain at £3.75. The adults is £4.25. Perfect for picnics in the park.

Following customer feedback we will be launching a range of vegan, 🌱 vegetarian 🥑 and kid’s boxes to sit in or takeaway. These will be available from next week. The contents will vary depending what fruit, veg etc etc have in stock. We will post pictures of more boxes next week. This is a vegan one that has been ordered for 9 am this morning.

We are pleased to say that our new pre-prep service is up and running. The fruit and crudite pots just need to be labelled and then we are good to go.

We have a range of sandwiches, salads etc and will be adding to the menu/listening to feedback.

Getting this labelling system set up so that it is fully legally compliant, has been massively challenging and I want to thank all of our amazing team.

We are looking forward to our new adventures. ❤️

Our new 'grab and go' service is coming very soon!

Extra screens have already gone up in the cafe to create more prep space.

Clare is busy setting up a new food labelling system. (The kind of labels that you see on pre-packed sandwiches in the high street chains).

We have bought a separate card machine for the trolley.

We are sorting team rotas so that someone will be in daily from 8am to make a whole range of tasty goodies from scratch.

From the beginning of May you can expect a tempting range of always available, pre-packed sandwiches, salads, etc.

These will be available from the cafe - and also a trolley that will be going around the building from around 10:30 each day.

We will have veggie and vegan options available from day one, as well as snacks and cold drinks. We will expand the menu/service as we grow.

This service will also be available at our new cafe which will be opening in the summer. North Tyneside Community Hubs and Libraries North Tyneside VODA
