It’s happening! The doors are officially opening on Saturday 13th from 7am-3pm.

I’ve put absolutely all my love (and savings) into this business and I can’t wait to show you all what I’ve got to offer. It looks just how I imagined and I am so incredibly happy to be realizing my dreams. So come to Nick’s and enjoy one of the best coffees in town.

Even better, to celebrate day one, THE COFFEE IS ON ME! That’s Right. Free coffee all opening morning!

Unfortunately, I have had major issues getting hold of my serve over fridge due to supply chain chaos - but I won’t let an illegal war started by war criminals stop me. Because of this, it is more of a soft launch, meaning no bagels just yet. Do not panic though, they are coming soon!

In the meantime, there will be a selection of pastries and a wonderful choice of bougie treats coming from BrownieMacs - so come and try one of the best brownies in town along with your coffee.

Come by, say hi, and help me celebrate the start of my journey. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Not a coffee drinker? No worries. Having worked with various brands in my time, these two stuck out as the best quality, and at Nick’s I want to serve only the best. Whether you’re looking for the calm focused energy of a Matcha, or the warm, comforting spice of a freshly brewed Chai, I’ve got you covered. Prana Chai and Lalani & Co were the ones I wanted, so I got it!

Of course I am dedicating a post to music, a lifelong passion and obsession of mine. One of the greatest benefits of the career I have chosen is to be working in an environment where you expect to hear music. I also have had a high success rate of making said music be of my choosing!

Tis the moment you’ve all been waiting for!

After several visits to the London Coffee Festival, one coffee consistently stood out and packed the punch I was looking for. Wonderful as an espresso, makes a beautiful long black and is even better as a flat white, it was an easy choice.

will be serving you

Hi, I’m Nick Mockett. You may remember me from such cafes as Lo-Gi, Cake Shed, Black Dog (now St Kilda), Basil, Bicycle Bakery, Fine Grind, SPN and Whippet. Suffice to say, I’ve been around! Some were short, but sweet, visits. And at every place I’ve ever worked, I’ve learned and I’ve grown and it’s all been part of the journey to where I am now.

I am going to use all my knowledge and experience to create a shop that can compete and stand amongst these fine, independent establishments of Tunbridge Wells. I will always recommend supporting local, independent businesses, and avoiding the tax dodging, exploitative corporations.

I’ve always been local to Tunbridge Wells. From being brought here as a child for shopping, to hanging around Calverley Park or behind The Forum (or in The Foyer! - IYKYK) causing mischief as a young teenager in the early 00s. I’m so happy to actually become a part of this wonderful town.

I think that Tunbridge Wells is like a town with the feel of a village. There is a wonderful community here that needs to be reinvigorated. Particularly with what’s going on across the world at the moment. Hopefully I can play a part in bringing that community spirit back.

Opening Summer 2026 - find Nick’s Coffee at the top of town on Mount Ephraim.

Primarily functioning as a specialty coffee shop - coffee TBA - Nick’s will also offer a range of pastries and sweet treats, including a very exciting collab with a former TW based baker who is currently smashing it up in the Oxford/Bicester area - it’s giving, bougie.
There will also be a small bagel menu, with bagels from Brick Lane in London, and a smoothie menu with some unique supplements available for all drinks.

It is with the fullest of hearts and from the happiest of places that I get to share my first post as a business. Been a long time coming. But also, a lifelong dream coming true. I can’t wait to be open and show you all what has been years in the making. So where do we begin?

I’m Nick. I’ve worked in, well, let’s just say a fair few cafes in the last 15 years. You may have seen me in various cafes across the Tunbridge Wells area, and sometimes, my appearance was fleeting. But other times, and particularly where I’ve been the manager, I hope I may have made a bit of an impression. I’m a fairly decent barista and a very good manager, and I love what I do. Every coffee I make is with love, every shift I work I enjoy, and in every single cafe I’ve ever worked at I’ve shown enthusiasm, passion and dedication.

I’ve always believed cafes are a crucial part of society and are more than just a place to eat and drink. I think they are essential, particularly in the modern digital age, for fostering community, productivity, connection and most importantly, discourse. And now it’s my time.

I am now finally running my own coffee shop. It’s here! Hallelujah. And I intend to bring the same joy, laughs, love, passion, dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm, whimsy, and of course - questionable dancing, whistling and singing techniques - that I’ve brought with me everywhere else, to my own business. The main question, rightly being “how do you sing and dance so beautifully?”

There will be a lot more information to come. So please follow me on my path to build my dream.
