In recent weeks you may have seen that the VAT the hospitality sector has to pay is being brought up everywhere. With MPs taking notice, prince William raising his glass to the British pubs and celebrities like Tom Kerridge leading the charge for VAT to be brought down to 10%.
We took over The Stallards Inn over two years ago, and even in the last two years overheads are getting higher and footfall is limited.
Its now more than ever that small and independent pubs need your support. We're not backed by big breweries or given handouts from the government. Everything you see is us on a daily basis and has been from the very beginning!
We love this industry and overheads, VAT, greed and politics all can make a difference but what makes the biggest difference is you! Come and support us so we can support you! Plan your friday and Saturday nights to finish at your local independent, order food from your local and not from McDonald's and if there is anything youd like to see that would make you use the pub even more drop us a message or grab Sam or Ruby at the bar. We embrace change!
Yes cut the VAT, but firstly support your local as much as you can! Thanks to all those that continuously support us - you are the best!
The Stallards Inn x
The hospitality sector has come together to launch โ a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, weโre working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.
Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.
This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.
Like, sign the petition and share this post โ we need your support to reach a million signatures.
