We roast our own coffee using a traditional Italian wood roaster, fired with locally sourced wood here in Totnes. Our caffè serves coffee we’ve roasted ourselves, alongside fresh focaccia sandwiches, brunch, and cakes — all baked by us. You’ll also find Italian sweet treats from The Curator Bakery, made with care using local ingredients.

May has been full of milestones, celebrations and moments that have reminded us just how lucky we are to do what we do, so we had to share a little recap!

Fourteen years ago, we opened our doors on The Plains for the very first time. To be opening The Square in Totnes almost to the day, fourteen years later, felt pretty special. To those of you who have been joining us for coffee, cake and conversation since 2012, thank you. Your support has shaped who we are.

A huge thank you also goes to our team. None of this happens without them. Their hard work, care, humour and willingness to embrace the slightly mad ideas along the way are what make The Curator what it is.

Some highlights from the month:

• Opening The Square in Totnes — those windows.
• Taking the team to the London Coffee Festival.
• Sharing the story of the Plymouth Market mural on BBC Radio Devon and ITV News.
• Cheering on team members at the Plymouth Half Marathon and Modbury Mile.
• Reopening Hope Cove in time for some half-term sunshine.
• Welcoming new faces to the team ahead of summer.
• Taking delivery of our new electric van.
• Bringing Natural Wine Nights back to Modbury.

It’s been a big month, and we’re feeling incredibly grateful.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Here’s to summer and some seriously good coffee!

We were incredibly proud to be featured on ITV West Country News this evening.

To be able to retell this story, bring back a piece of Plymouth’s history, and reignite so many childhood memories has been a genuinely special moment for all of us.

A huge thank you to Gez, and to the Lomax family, for allowing us to help bring this iconic mural back to life, now proudly living on within our caffè in Plymouth Market.

Seeing so many people reconnect with it, share stories, and remember a different Plymouth has meant a great deal. Thank you for all the support.

Plymouth Market

Watch the latest from ITV News - Gez Taylor painted a ceramic mermaid on the wall of a Plymouth Market fishmongers in the 1980s. Four decades later, he can't believe it's been rediscovered.
