Community Apple Pressing Weekend
Join us for our second community apple pressing hosted by this October. We'll be firing up the grill for the very last time this year, so you'll be able to press your apples and enjoy some of our sizzling sausages and mulled cider all day long.
Bring your apples and containers for your juice and press as much as you like, with just a small donation of 50p per litre pressed of which 100% of the proceeds will go towards our friends and chosen charity . FiC will be there all weekend long with fun and games for the family. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, whether you have apples to press or not so come on down.
We’re doing it bigger and better this year as we’ll have two presses on the go and we’ve introduced timed slots so that you aren't held up waiting to press. Head to the link in our below now to reserve a space and for more details. We’ll see you at the Smokehouse.

Closed for the season
Due to a large percent of our team heading back to uni or off travelling, we’ve decided to close the Smokehouse a little earlier than planned this summer. We would have liked to have continued for another month but with such a short period of summer left to go, we feel like it’s the right time to close for the year. We’ve had an incredible season, with our Taco Takeover, the introduction of our regular Steak Frites Thursdays and being a part of the Ben’s Farm Shop 40 Year Field Day – it’s been fun. Thanks to all the team and everyone who came down and visited us this year. It’s been yet another great summer at Smokehouse!
We’ll see you next year.

Taco Takeover - SOLD OUT
Taco Takeover was such a success yesterday that unfortunately we are completely sold out of tacos! This means we’ll be back to our usual menu of our BBQ items today. Apologies to anyone who missed out and planned to join us today and a huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported us these past couple of days despite the patchy weather. It’s been fun!

Taco Tuesdays are back!
Following the success of our Taco Tuesdays last summer, we’ve decided to bring them back but this time with a twist…our team will be taking over!
They’ll be serving up a round of tacos from organic beef brisket, free range pulled pork, smoky jackfruit & a fish of the day taco to mix & match with. Alongside some very necessary extras, like our unctuous Mexican dirty fries and of course our ever popular Margaritas. Their extensive wine selection will still be on offer, so you can find the perfect tinto to pair with your tacos.
They’ll be kicking off the first of the Taco Tuesdays on the 31st Jan and from then on it will be a permanent fixture at the bar (except for Valentines Day).

We’re back!
We’re opening up the Smokehouse for a one off Community Apple Pressing Day with on Sunday 23rd October. We’ll be hosting this in memory of Ben’s father and Harry’s grandfather, community apple pressing enthusiast John R Watson.
Bring your own apples and containers for your juice, or just come along and join in with the community pressing.
We’ll be firing up the grill once again and serving up a simple menu of our sizzling sausages, mulled cider and apple juice. We’ll also be joined by charities and to which all proceeds from the pressing will go towards.

That’s it folks!
The smokehouse is officially closed for the rest of the year. We’ve had a few challenges with broken ice cream machines and the inevitable staff shortages but we’ve also had some real highs like the great success of our Taco Tuesdays and the second year running of our Jamaican Weekend. A big thanks to all of our staff and to all of you who came down and supported us.

The Smokehouse will be shut today and tomorrow (31st Aug and 1st Sep) due to staff shortages.
We’ll be back open from Friday until Sunday for the last weekend of the season. We’ve had a blast this year, so we’ll be celebrating our last weekend with a bang. Come and join us for our last big barbecue of the year.

THE LAST TACO TUESDAY OF THE SUMMER
With summer soon drawing to a close, we’re sad to say, tomorrow’s Taco Tuesday will be the last. It’s been a great addition to our menu and extremely popular, so a big thank you to everyone who has come down and shared a taco with us and supported it. We’re fully stocked and can’t wait to see out the last Tuesday with you. Arrive early to avoid disappointment and extend your bank holiday a little bit longer with us at the Smokehouse this Tuesday.
