In a small Inn like ours, the role of a General Assistant is a true core pillar of our team. It's perfect for someone just starting out in hospitality and looking to learn about all the different things that keep a business like ours going, or for someone who loves to have a varied and exciting range of responsibilities. You'll be a port of call for guest liaison, help run Breakfast Service, work Front of House, assist with general cleaning, and provide amazing Highland Hospitality for our visitors.

It’s that time of year! We are growing our team for 2026 ⭐️ check out the job posting in the comments and see if it suits you!

Flexible working hours with as little shifts as you need or as many as you’d like and, as always, we are committed to local community employment so reach out to us as soon as you can! Positions with us usually fill up pretty quickly.

Usual working hours are daytime with no evening requirements for our housekeeping team members.

We’ve explored the highlands for years and visited many amazing Restaurants. Yet, in the modern day, we rarely find a dish that truly pays homage to Scottish culture. At the Inn in the North we believe Scottish staples should be showcased first and foremost.

For us, Haggis Neeps and Tatties is a dish that represents our homeland perfectly. It is a great, hearty, Scottish dish that never goes out of style.

Local Haggis paired local Neeps and Tatties and accompanied by, you guessed it, a local Whisky sauce (homemade of course!)

A true showcase of the Highlands.

When creating our menus our goal is to always showcase local suppliers and local produce. We are so lucky to be able to build long-standing relationships with local Butchers, Fruit & Veg merchants and Fishmongers. Our suppliers are dedicated to providing the absolute best produce possible which enables us to create and serve dishes showcasing the Highlands Natural Larder. At the Inn in the North, sourcing the best produce is the only option.

It feels good to be back in the swing of things! Whilst we were kept busy over the winter months with visitors from all over the world staying in our self-catering cottages it feels fantastic to have our Bar, Restaurant and Rooms up and running too!

We’ve been blessed with sunshine in our opening week and we hear it’s going to get even better ☀️.

Who’d have thought we’d have a famous Dessert on our menu at the Inn in the North?! Chef created this Dessert back in 2021, at the final round of Scottish Chef of the Year! We are so lucky to share our space with such talent.

Originally a delicious Banana Soufflé with a Dark Chocolate sauce, we convinced chef (it didn’t take much) to add Wolfburn Aurora for an extra touch of the Highlands.

Originally this made a guest appearance on specials board, but as you can see, it is so popular - and rightly so! So this special is now a mainstay on our Desserts.

Tonight is night #1 of #3 Surf & Turf set menu for £30 so this is the perfect opportunity for a few rounds of Seafood, Surf, Soufflé’s & Drams!
