So long and thanks for all the fish

And so our 1934 CAFE adventure comes to an end. We have served over 2000 people and well over 3-and-a-half thousand individual items (including 800 coffees and 240 bacon barms). Your support has been wonderful: from new-borns to retirees, bikers to walkers, first-time visitors to frequent flyers the public response has been fab. Our sincere thanks for giving us the chance to feed you and for your kind words.

Our thanks also to Johnsons Butchers, Roost Coffee, The Greengrocer Thirsk, Katy Bakes, Thomas the Baker (Thirsk), Moonshine Ice Cream, The Fabric Bird, NFU Mutual & Nfu Agency Offices Pickering and Everything Thirsk. Then there are individuals including Tom, Kelly, Chris, Guy, Dawn and Marion. Finally there are family and friends who provided expert advice, encouragement, physical labour and also ate the food. Thank you.

A GOOD TIME NOT A LONG TIME

After careful consideration, Becky and I have decided to close the doors of the 1934 cafe on Sunday afternoon. So, if you come along on this Friday, Saturday or Sunday and say the word ‘Cantina’ you will get 10% off your entire bill. If you buy something for a child you get a free glider (while stocks last ). Thank you everyone for your support and we hope to see you one more time.

It is set to be a lovely day at the Yorkshire Gliding Club and the North York Moors. Today we have chilli dogs, Roost Coffee, sandwiches with salad and crisps, flapjack, muffins, bacon 🥓 barms, gluten free crumpets, cool drinks, Yorkshire tea and a warm welcome Open 9am-2pm

Pepper is delighted that we can now display our top rated ‘5’ for food hygiene at 1934 Cafe. While Pepper won’t be in the cafe tomorrow our Chicago hot dogs will be (and don’t forget our children’s packs are available too).

We are open today on Bank Holiday Monday. With good weather there should be plenty take-offs to watch and we have lots of lovely food and drink

We are open today and bank holiday Monday. Range of brownies, drinks, freshly made sandwiches with salad and crisps, bacon barms and Chicago style hotdogs. Note. Whitehorse bank closed 12-4 today so come via Sutton bank or the Helmsley road (A170)
