☕....🚂🚃🚃🚃💨💨
Want the full details of our Summer Diesel Festival, including all the shunting and organising that makes our event? Again, for this year, we’ll be producing a limited number of Public ‘Special Traffic Notices’ which outline the event, to the minute!
This document will include a brief history of the locomotives in operation, as well as full working instructions for each end of the railway, and the intermediate stations where ‘abnormal working’ is in operation. Finally, full working timetables, including carriage diagrams and head-codes are also included.
These notices will be available from all of our stations, for the reasonable price of £2.50. Please note, these will be correct at time of going to print and may be subject to amendment – keep an eye on our Socials for any further updates during the event!
Our Summer Diesel Festival starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday 7th June.
Key Highlights:
- Four visiting locomotives (26007, 37250, 47714 & 50049), offering a variety of traction not normally seen on the WSR
- Our home fleet in action (D2133, D4107, D6566, D6575, D7017 & D9526)
- An intensive four-day ‘high mileage’ timetable operating over the entire 23-mile route, including a special Friday trip to the WSR boundary at Norton Fitzwarren
- Chance to ride in a heritage brake van, right behind the engine, in our restored heritage goods train
- Williton Diesel depot open for visitors, with locomotives in various states on display
- A mixed traction day on Sunday 7th June
There’s so much in store for those joining us at our Summer Diesel Festival, running between Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th June.
