A day late with the post but last week the children talked with me about their grandparents to celebrate grandparents day which was 4th October! They made lovely cards for their grandparents and I have enjoyed seeing photos and hearing stories from the children about their extended family.

How wonderful today on our walk home from school, the little one socked toddler spotted our shadows on the wall, lots of pointing and babbling! We stopped in our tracks and found the sun which was behind us. We made shapes and moved and waved at our shadows on the wall! H noticed that the sun was gone and the wall was dark when the sun was covered by a building! Love our every day learning opportunities ☀️

We spotted something exciting out in town today, we walked past the greengrocers and saw a pink spikey dragonfruit! So H and I took our coins and went off to purchase!

At home the afterschoolers we so excited to see what we found! Brooklyn especially, as has asked me for dragon fruit for at least a few years! We cut it in half and looked at the colour and the seeds. We ate it cubed. 2 out of 4 gave it a thumbs up! Very pink thumbs as the colour certainly stained our hands 💗💗💗💗💗💗

We’ve decided to monitor the colour of the leaves on the large Maple tree near our house that we pass on our school run! Last week the leaves were completely green 🍃. This week we found a red maple leaf on the ground 🍁which was exciting, they noticed the leaves are still green however the very top of the tree the leaves are starting to turn yellow! I wonder what we will see next week?! 🍁🍂

Today we had our first teeny toes dance class at EJB Dance company 💚 the little ones enjoyed some parachute play with balls, singing nursery rhymes and using props such as scarves snd then really worked on our balance skills on an obstacle course. There were stepping stones, an air track for bouncing and tunnels for climbing through. It was so much fun, amazing to see even the tiniest ones (baby’s FIRST day!) rock and bounce their body to the beat! Amazing thank you Miss Eve and Miss Toni x

End of a gorgeous week! September can sometimes feel chaotic getting back to routine and settling in our new friends however it’s been a real joy this year! Conker and autumn leaf hunting has started, children have been welcomed into playgroups and outings and we are really enjoying learning about the world around us. Lots of happy and smiley children!
