Today, the fruits of our Crochet Club are being handed over to The Snowdrop Suite, a dedicated bereavement centre at Burton Hospital, for parents of young and still born babies.
The monies we raised from Crochet Club was donated to Charlotte & James Illiffe, enabling them to buy a, made to order, privacy pram, dedicated to their daughter Immie-Rae.
This pushchair will allow bereaved parents to spend some precious time with their child, maybe take them for a walk, or transfer wards in hospital with some privacy. An experience they would not otherwise get to do.
Our Crochet Club, along with many donations from the village, also enabled us to give Burton Hospital a number of crocheted items;
39 hats - 16 jumpers - 11 bonding hearts - 7 bonding squares - 5 sets of matching blankets, hat, squares and hearts, as well as 11 small blankets, and 15 large.
We'd like to Thank everyone that came to Crochet Club, especially those that learnt the skill from scratch , and we'd like to Thank members of the village who crocheted at home, and donated items for us.
Can we also Thank Maria & Sian, for their time teaching our 'students'.
We are very happy with the outcome. No parent should ever have to go through what Charlotte & James have, but at least now, they can do so with some privacy and respect.
Thank You
