We’re busy in the kitchen putting together lots of ideas for our BIG new menu launch! Stay tuned as we perfect all of our new dishes, creating a system that will allow us to deliver them 10/10 time and time again!

Absolutely love this google review from Michelle Ward, a lot of hard work and graft has gone into the last couple of weeks, reading these make it all worth while…

We stopped visiting due to lack of friendliness in and quality of the food. Since the change in management we have come back again and again, sunday roast is amazing, fresh, well cooked and delivered with a smile. Wonderful deserts especially the lemon cream 👍 great value well done Sarah and Richard loving the improvements.

Unfortunately, due to electrical issues in the kitchen, we have made the difficult decision to close the kitchen this evening.

The good news is this will not affect tomorrow’s service, and we are fully confident everything will be repaired and back up and running in time.

We are absolutely gutted to have to do this and sincerely apologise to anyone who was planning to join us for food tonight.

On another note, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for sticking with us this week. So much effort has gone into trying to keep up with what has been an incredibly busy start to our tenure here at The Sun Inn. If we’re honest, we could probably have done with a little more time to get everything exactly where we wanted it before such a busy period hit us.

We know it hasn’t been perfect… but we promise we’ll get there.

Lastly, thank you for making me and my family feel so welcome since arriving at The Sun Inn. The support and kindness we’ve received already has meant a huge amount to us all. ❤️

Our menu is ever changing as we continue to try new dishes, improve old favourites and bring fresh ideas to the table based on what our guests are loving most.

From our Hand Made Steak & Ale Pie, to loaded chips, burgers, ciabattas and pub classics, there’s something for everyone to enjoy Monday–Saturday here at Coate 🌿

⚡ IMPORTANT UPDATE ⚡

Well… we said the new landlord was going to make an impact, but we didn’t expect him to take out the entire local power grid. 😳

Unfortunately there is currently a power outage affecting the whole area surrounding The Sun Inn, and we’ve been advised electricity may not return until around 11pm this evening.

As much as we’d love to serve pints by candlelight and cook steaks using pure optimism, we will sadly be closing for the evening.

We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to be back up and running tomorrow with:✅ Lights✅ Cold beer✅ Hot food✅ Slightly less dramatic entrances from the new landlord

🥧🚨 SOMETHING SERIOUSLY GOOD IS COMING TO The Sun Inn 🚨🥧

We don’t want to start any rumours…
…but there may soon be a steak pie arriving at The Sun Inn that could genuinely change lives.

Now, we know “best steak pie ever” is a bold statement.
But after tasting these beauties ourselves, we’re prepared to risk friendships, family arguments and possible pie-related riots by saying…

👉 THIS IS THE BEST STEAK PIE WE HAVE EVER TASTED.

Chunks of slow-cooked steak.
Rich gravy.
Pastry so good it deserves its own postcode.

Honestly, if this pie were on a dating app, it would be:
✔ Warm
✔ Reliable
✔ Emotionally supportive
✔ Full of meat

We’re hoping to have these with us VERY soon… and trust us, you’re going to want stretchy trousers ready.
