This day two years ago I served my first pint as landlord of The Gower Inn.
It was the realisation of a long-held ambition to run my own country pub, a huge personal and financial risk and an enormous leap of faith. What then followed was an extended period where one may say I was “winging it”.
Two years later, we’ve built a thriving business on the beautiful Gower Peninsula and are honoured to serve both our local community and visitors from further afield. We’ve had enormous fun developing menus that we actually want to eat and launching Tân Du Rum - a rum we actually want to drink.
We’ve now been nominated and have become a finalist TWICE for Pub of the Year at the Great British Pub Awards and none of it could have happened without YOU!
I look back on those early days with pride in what we have built, gratitude for the first class team around me and buckets of excitement for what the future holds.
Who’s getting emotional? Not me. Smoke in the eyes.
PS - buy my rum! Tan Du Rum
