Funding for Projects that Have a Positive Impact on Communities, People or the Environment (UK)

The Matthew Good Foundation has opened the next round of its Grants for Good Fund. The aim is to support small charities, not-for-profit groups and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about making a difference to people, their community or the environment.

The Fund will share £15,000 among five shortlisted projects every three months, to be voted on by John Good Group employees. The project that receives the most votes will receive a grant of £5,000, second place £3,500, third place £2,500, with fourth and fifth place both receiving £2,000.

In addition to established projects and charities, the Foundation wants to hear from people with innovative ideas that need funding to get their projects up and running.

Funding is awarded every three months and the next deadline for the next funding round is 15 September 2026.

🎗Here’s where we have helped before

Old Mill Foundation

🫶Community led volunteers who support adults with cancer diagnosis, their families and carers were seeking to install Solar Panels, battery storage and low energy LED lighting.

♨Having recently moved into a long disused public house and converting it into a Cancer Therapy Centre with supporting Charity Shop, Health Store and Community Café the charity is keen to ensure a warm environment at minimal cost to the charity, in order to focus funds raised on client support and treatment. Energy costs were becoming unaffordable, and needed addressing.

💡This amazing project was awarded a renewable energy grant of £15,606.93, to install Solar panels, LED lighting and storage batteries. As volunteers, the services they provide are free, but everything hinges on being able to pay the running costs of the building.

🌳🎁This installation reduces energy costs, ensuring that the foundation can continue to provide much needed support. The installation was completed, and the charity is now in a position to move to a cheaper tariff and export surplus energy to the National Grid.

🌞Grant Ynni Adnewyddadwy Gwledig Abertawe (Cronfa Twf Lleol y DU)

🎗Cyllid newydd ar gyfer Abertawe wledig

🎗Dyma enghreifftiau o sut rydym wedi helpu o'r blaen

Old Mill Foundation

🫶Gwirfoddolwyr dan arweiniad y gymuned sy'n cefnogi oedolion â diagnosis o ganser, eu teuluoedd a'u gofalwyr sy'n ceisio gosod paneli solar, storfeydd batris a goleuadau LED pŵer ynni isel.

♨Ar ôl symud yn ddiweddar i dafarn a fu’n wag ers amser hir a'i haddasu'n ganolfan therapi canser gyda siop elusen, siop iechyd a chaffi cymunedol i’w chefnogi, mae'r elusen yn awyddus i sicrhau amgylchedd cynnes am y pris rhataf posib fel y gellir defnyddio’r a***n sy'n cael ei godi i gefnogi a thrin cleientiaid. Roedd costau ynni yn anfforddiadwy, ac roedd angen mynd i'r afael â nhw.

💡Dyfarnwyd grant ynni adnewyddadwy o £15,606.93 i'r prosiect anhygoel hwn i osod paneli solar, goleuadau LED a storfeydd batris. Fel gwirfoddolwyr, mae'r gwasanaethau y maen nhw'n eu darparu am ddim, ond mae popeth yn dibynnu ar allu talu costau i gynnal yr adeilad. Mae'r gwaith gosod hwn yn lleihau costau ynni, gan sicrhau bod y sefydliad yn parhau i ddarparu cymorth mawr ei angen.

🌳🎁Cwblhawyd y gwaith gosod, ac mae'r elusen bellach mewn sefyllfa i symud i dariff rhatach ac allforio'r ynni dros ben i'r Grid Cenedlaethol.
