Lasting Legacy Drama Scholarships

We are very excited to announce our first Lasting Legacy Scholarship inspired by the wonderful Heaven Branch and in honour of the amazing George Forster! George dedicated more than 60 years to Sunderland AFC, helping shape the heart and soul of the Club through his tireless leadership of the Supporters’ Association, pioneering club merchandise, and unwavering commitment to generations of fans. A season ticket holder until his final days, George’s devotion, kindness, and enduring legacy will forever be woven into the history and spirit of Sunderland AFC.

This scholarship in George Forster’s name sponsored by his loving friend Joanne Yongson will cover the full cost of attending Atlas Drama Club for one academic year (from September 2026 - July 2027) for a child in Years 2–6 from one of our partner schools across Sunderland.

Eligibility:
The scholarship is for children who will be in years 2-6 from September 2026! You must be in one of our Sunderland partner schools: English Martyrs' Catholic Primary School Redby Academy Seaburn Dene Primary School St John Bosco Catholic Primary School, Sunderland

How to Apply:
To apply, please submit a short video (maximum 2 minutes).

There's no need for professional filming - just make sure the video is clear and that we can hear you!

In your video, we'd love you to:
• Introduce yourself with your first name, age, and school
• Tell us why you would love to be part of Atlas Drama Club

Key Dates:
Submission deadline: 26th August
The successful scholarship recipient will be contacted in the first week of September

Dedicate a scholarship in honour of a loved one, celebrate someone who has inspired you, recognise a special occasion, or create a lasting legacy that helps young people and our community access the arts. Every contribution helps remove financial barriers and gives local children and community members the opportunity to experience the confidence, creativity and connection that theatre can bring.

We are so proud of these 2 fantastic young people who have shown such passion and enthusiasm for wanting to get involved in the creative arts! Congratulations both! We can’t wait to see your journey unfolding!!
