IT'S A SUNNY SUNDAY AT THE WHITE HORSE!

Slingers Hotdogs are here from 1pm, serving their delicious loaded hotdogs - perfect with a stein of Oktoberfest bier! 🌭🍻

We have bottles of the always popular AF Pils alongside Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee Leichtbier at 2.8% or their ever refreshing Radler-Naturtrüb at 2.4%!

We have bottles to take away or nice and chilled in the fridge awaiting your enjoyment!

Smoked b**r is one of the most unusual b**r styles around but once upon a time all b**r would have been smokey.

Before 1635 all malt was dried over open fires; oak, beech or even straw were used as fuel. Wood smoked grains would add a strong but somewhat pleasant taste while straw smoke is much more acrid. In July 1635 Sir Nicholas Halse was awarded a patent for his smokeless kiln. His invention caught on across Europe and in places like Bavaria many b**rs lost their smokey character almost overnight. In Bavaria, though, some breweries carried on drying malt over open beechwood fires and one notable one does still today (Schlenkerla) to cater to those that liked the unique taste.

At the White Horse we’re currently pouring Anspach & Hobday Rauchbier, a homage to the Bavarian classic. Expect soft smoke on the nose, followed by smoked bacon and caramel sweetness on tasting with a bitter smokey finish.

Oktoberfest is still in full swing, with additional b**rs added this week! Homemade sourdough pretzels all week, and our infamous currywurst pizza is still on the menu from Thursday evening! 🍕🍻

We're joined by THREE food trucks this weekend!
Friday - Wagyu Burgers and Street Food 4:30 - 8pm
Saturday - Naama African Kitchen 4:30 - 8pm
Sunday - Slingers Hotdogs 1pm - 5pm

Over the first weekend of our mini Octoberfest we had lots of requests for a traditional Bavarian Weissbier. We listened and got a last minute order in for some delicious Hefeweizen.

On tap we’ve got Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier. Brewed using 60% wheat malt it’s a lovely burnished colour. The flavour is soft and sweet but also incredibly drinkable.

In bottle we’ve got Klosterbrauerei Andechs Hefe-Weissbier Hell. This is one of the world’s best b**rs. Bursting with the flavour of spiced banana bread and honey it’s surprisingly refreshing.

October is just around the corner, so here are our upcoming events and food trucks!

Oktoberfest is still in full swing this weekend, with plenty of German and UK brewed German-style b**rs on, and more to come, and the last week of homemade sourdough pretzels and our infamous currywurst pizza! 🍕🍻

Our autumn Harvest C***r Festival will begin in time for half term, with a special pizza and cheese parings too! 🍎🧀

Don't forget that this is the last week of us opening on Mondays and Tuesdays (Mon 28th and Tues 29th) - so make the most of it while you can! 🍻

PROST to a great first Friday of our Oktoberfest celebrations! Steins, burgers, pretzels and currywurst pizzas were the stars of the show!

Back again today, this time with the fabulous Suffolk Spice Fusion joining us from 4:30-8pm and funky fave vinyl DJ Jonny Drop spinning on the patio from 5-9pm tonight!

Dressing up is welcomed, dancing is encouraged! Grab a pint (or two) of one of our fab Oktoberfest b**rs and get amongst it.
No reservations, just come down and grab a spot! Plenty of tables inside and out, and it's almost 20 degrees in September - enjoy while we can!

OKTOBERFEST LOADING....

The bunting has been hung, the b**rs are starting to fill the taps, Ellie's fresh sourdough pretzels are coming out of the oven and even more bottled German la**rs are chilling in our fridge!

Dare we say it, it's time for Oktoberfest at the White Horse!

Plenty of tasty German and UK brewed, German inspired Festbiers, Schwarzbier, Dunkel, Marzen, Doppelbock & Rauchbier to choose from!

Available in anything from 1/3 pint to 2 pint stein!

Our Currywurst pizza will be available from Thursday for the next 2 weekends so grab it while you can - it's always a big seller!
