Please show your support for Luke and his team at The Hog at Horsley by getting in contact with Simon Opher MP, Highways and news outlets, and making noise on social media. This minimum 3-month road closure (maximum 18months!!) could force the hog to shut it's doors permanently, which would be devastating for the team. This next week will be vital for campaigning to get this closure changed.

We’ve been made aware of the road closure as detailed in the image below.
If it goes ahead as planned, The Hog WILL close. It’s literally that simple.
I, Luke, have been paying myself £4ph (at best) for months, just to keep the doors open.
This closure will create a significant drop in footfall, and therefore revenue, and we simply won’t be able to continue!
Add to that the fact the entire village will be at serious risk due to the lack of emergency vehicle access, and fly-tipping in the area will increase massively due to the restricted access to the tip, and this is therefore something we should ALL be fighting to stop!
📣 Why can the works not take place with traffic light controls instead?
📣 Why can the works not take place overnight?
📣 Why on earth will it take THREE MONTHS to dig a trench and replace a pipe?
📣 Why has so little notice been given for this very significant closure?
I am already contacting highways, our MP and various news outlets…but I need your help! 🙏 Please!

And after all the fighting I’ve done to save it for the last 6 years, I can’t honestly believe it will be a f*cking gas main repair that finally finishes us off! 😔
