After a weekend of clearing up broken toys, we are kindly asking parents to please ensure you are supervising your children in our play area. We love welcoming families to The Black Horse and giving children a space to play, but it is incredibly costly for us to keep replacing the toys when they are regularly getting broken.

Alongside the broken Wendy House and quad bike in the photos, we have also had three Little Tykes cars, two Swingballs and three co****le boards broken in the past few weeks. Please make sure your children are being gentle and respectful with our toys. It ruins the fun for other children if there are no toys to play with… and is very expensive for us!

The Chicken Caesar Burger has been crowned the winner of The Black Horse’s Battle of the Burgers!

The Caesar Burger will now have a permanent spot on our menu because of it’s amazing popularity amongst our customers!

⭐️This burger is stacked with crispy fried chicken, bacon, grated parmesan, caesar dressing and lettuce⭐️

Thank you to for organising the competition and for making our staff’s weird and wonderful burger creations come to life with the help of Adam Pavey !

The Hog at Horsley are doing their annual charity beer crawl this Saturday 15th August in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The walk will start at the Hog and make their way up to the Black Horse for lunch before making their way back down to the Hog, with many fab stops along the way.

If you would like to join the beer crawl, whether it’s for the whole crawl, or just a couple stops, everyone is welcome (fancy dress is highly recommended but not mandatory). The crawl will start at the Hog at 10am.

What’s not to love, a day spent getting your steps in, getting the beers in and raising money for a fabulous cause!

There’s a solar eclipse on Wednesday! Join us at the Black Horse with your protective eyewear to watch the solar eclipse!

From 6:15pm, the moon will start to move in front of the sun. Everyone is welcome to join us!
