Alas, covid 19 has finally finished off Best Burger. We are now closed permanently. Thank you for all the love and support over the past 3.5 years and sorry that I wasn't able to keep the business alive for longer 😥

We've reintroduced the popular Bacon, Brie and Cranberry burger to the menu, available from tonight to eat-in or takeaway. As long as we can get the supplies we'll keep it on the menu from now on.

Available in beef or chicken, it contains a toasted brioche bun, melted brie, freshly-cooked smoked bacon, a decent lashing of cranberry sauce on the top and bottom plus our regular salad.

6.95 single / 8.95 double

We're going to try and bring back more of your favourites from the past in the coming months but if there's one thing covid has taught us, it's not to take anything for granted and not to make hasty promises 😂

Unfortunately we will be CLOSED this evening due to a lack of staff. A member of the team has to isolate temporarily. We hope to be back up and running tomorrow as usual.

Please note, we will only be able to accept CASH this weekend at Best Burger due to the card machine going crazy on Thursday evening. The replacement will arrive on Monday. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Cash machines are just around the corner and the Queens will also be able to issue cashback.

Feeling down about the terrible weather and global pandemic that feels never ending? This will cheer you up.

We're pleased to announce that we can now roll out our TAKEAWAY service, available immediately. Thanks for your patience. The new service is available whenever Best Burger is open, that is, 5 - 9pm Tuesday to Friday and 1pm - 9pm on the weekends. Customers purchasing a takeaway are asked to take a seat in the front yard of the Queens Head, either on the benches or under the canopy, to check in using the NHS app (or we can take your details on pen and paper when we take your order), and to sanitise their hands using the sanitiser available at the entrance to the pub. We kindly ask that customers remain seated whilst they are waiting for service and for their food. A separate smoking area is available. Please remember to observe social distancing rules at all times and to behave considerately towards others.

This space has been kindly made available to us by the Queens Head so that we have somewhere safe and dry for you to sit whilst you await your meal. Once seated and checked in a Best Burger waiter or waitress will be over a short while later to take your order and payment. Once your food is ready we will bring it out to your table for you. A full range of refreshments are available to you from the bar whilst you wait; just let your waiter or waitress know whether you would like to order any drinks and a member of the Queens Head staff will come and take your drinks order. If you are already in the pub and would like to take some food home with you when you leave just grab any member of staff and we'll get the Best Burger waiter or waitress over to your table as quickly as we can.

At present no parking is available on-site so please do not use the car park outside the pub. It's also not possible to ring up and pre-order for collection at the moment. We run on a first-come first-served basis and Best Burger is now much faster at producing larger quantities of food so the waiting time is a lot shorter than it has been in the past. It remains the case though that EVERY item we serve is cooked from fresh so if it's a particularly busy time it will take a bit longer. At off-peak times the wait should be no longer than 15 minutes, depending on the number of orders in the queue when you order and the size of your order. Peak time is typically between 6 - 8pm on Friday and Saturday.

This is a trial period for our takeaway service so please expect a few changes in the coming weeks as we learn from the experience. Please help us and the Queens Head by observing all rules and being polite to the staff if things don't go entirely to plan to begin with. Once covid-19 restrictions are lifted we will be able to offer lots more flexibility. Enjoy your food :)
