Something to think about for all our dog-loving patrons! 🦮🌞
This is not an original post from us, but nonetheless I thought it needed sharing, please don't shoot the messenger! 😶🌫️
Please help us protect your four-legged friends. 🐶❤️
Please don't put our team in the awkward position of having to ask you to move into a cooler part of the pub or, if necessary, to leave with your dog. We also ask that you treat our team with kindness and respect—they're simply following procedures designed to keep animals safe. DO NOT be rude or 'kick off' to them...
No we dont have air conditioning, we are an old, listed building, with few opening windows, we unfortunately can't give any dogs fans or cooling mats...
These measures aren't about being difficult; they're about preventing dogs from becoming seriously unwell or even losing their lives.
Even if the sun isn't shining brightly, 30°C heat is still extremely dangerous. Sitting outside in those temperatures is not safe for dogs, regardless of cloud cover or a breeze.
The RSPCA and other animal welfare organisations advise that: 🐾 Over 20°C can be dangerous for many dogs. 🐾 Over 27°C can be dangerous for all breeds, even without direct sunshine, due to the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
We know how much people love bringing their dogs to the pub, and we love seeing them too. But during periods of extreme heat, the kindest and safest place for them is at home in the cool.
Thank you for helping us keep dogs safe and for supporting our team. ❤️🐾
